Ft. Zumwalt West High School

West is best!! Go Jaguars! This high school offers many things to benefit the students. There are many sports year round, clubs to join, AP classes, college fairs, nice teachers, good coaches, many counselors, several principals, and after school activities. I believe all the staff wants every student to do their best and that they want all of the students to succeed.

Principals and vice principals have absolutely no idea what is going on. Punishments are dished out to children (even with 0 basis or proof) influenced by favoritism. My child was accused of something on the bus by another student, I asked to see the video as this is not something I have ever heard of him doing. They suspended him and then after the suspension told me there was no video. Seems like a great thing they are running there! Most of the teachers are good yet there are still quite a few bad apples.

I am just starting at this school in the following days I am a freshman. The one thing that I HAVE to complain about is most definitely them NOT having a JROTC program?? I would like to attend a military college or go into the military when I graduate but you don’t have a JROTC program? And they support the military colleges too just no program. It upsets me really.. they need to change it. And maybe put a pool inside while they’re at it. There’s enough room

My experience was very good. I took a variety of classes and participated in extra-curricular activities. I scored a 33 on the ACT, went to a highly ranked college and got a degree in Chemical Engineering and am doing well in the work force currently. Great school, good opportunities, and provides a great path for future opportunities. I wish they would push more students towards the technical trade schools instead of college all the time. The economy needs more electricians, welders, pipe fitters, material handlers, etc...
