this the the worst school I have ever been in and I say this because their teacher are a absolute joke and altogether a compete mockery of what teachers should be

We have had 3 daughters go through RHS (and all through Raytown schools). All 3 have participated in sports, theater, choir and debate/forensics. All 3 were mentored and nurtured by all staff including the lovely women in the front office. The oldest graduating from college in 3 years and going directly to graduate school, the 2nd doing very well in college and the 3rd will graduate next year and go directly to college. We have not found any deficiencies in the education that they have received, in fact have found it to be superior than other "richer" districts in the area because it is a lot smaller and more personal - teachers can get to know their students better. We have had so many wonderful, caring teachers and administrators throughout the years that we have been in the district that I can't imagine any district could be better.

This is one of the worst schools that I have ever gone to I transferred to this school from Washburn Rural in November and from the very first day I knew something was off. First off all the teacher in reading had us being read to from a recording something that I hadn't done since the 6th grade. Then the physical education class we aren't really physically educated we could just do whatever we want. Sometimes we have things called block days it is two school hours combined and people who actually try in P.E. expect to go and play volleyball for this time instead we're sitting here doing argumentations and taking quizzes. There are a lot of people who decide to goof off and not take the quizzes so out of those 2 hours that we have in class only 20 minutes of it we get to actually play volleyball or basketball. The history and arts classes are good but they are hard but I like my classes hard it gives more of a challenge. Then in that math classes we are doing things that I had done from 6-8th grade and where high schoolers and that is no shade to Mrs.Oglesby because she is one of the best teachers in the school. As far as debate Raytown has a terrible reputation. I remember being at a debate meet and there was a team being very loud routy and disrespectful and disrespectful and we asked them to be quite and they said oh sorry we're from Raytown that's just how we are. Then we told them that we were from Rayton, they apologized and stuff but it's still saddening to hear. I also don't feel that they treat new kids ver fairly either they at this school taught things in a different order than the people taught it at my other school and said that I still had to take the finals that everybody else had to take saying that I was held to the same expectations that they were. These were not the same expectations, they were expected to take a final on things that they learned and I was expected to take a final based on things that I had not learned. But the worst thing about Rayton is the administration, I was talking to my counselor about a personal manner and one of the people from administration thought that what they wanted was more important than my counselor-student confidentiality and forced me to tell her what was going on things like this and worse has happened and I want for these certain people in the administration fired so please share your stories too.

My two daughters graduated from Raytown High. My two sons will as well. Great teachers and staff, and the school is full of good kids. Students are very kind to the Special Ed students, which warms my heart. Like a small town in Raytown.

Having graduated and having a daughter going to the same High School, it's interesting. It's been 2 different tim periods but all I see is quality. My son will be going there next year and we expect nothing but a quality education. I have always been impressed with this school and continue to be amazed by the quality of the teachers and educators and how hard they work to give these kids a great opportunity to learn.
