James Elementary School

My sons teachers have always been amazing! He’s lucky. But the other staff at school are rude. The principal doesn’t care. My son has ADHD and ODD and is on medication. Anytime he has an episode or he gets mad he will shut down and cover his ears and crawl under the table. He doesn’t hurt anyone. But her solution is to call me to come get him. They don’t even attempt to get to the root of the problem and why he got upset. My son has missed 26 days of school this year. If his morning starts off bad, he doesn’t recover from it. He has a disorder. Not one call has been made to me asking why he’s missed so much school. It’s like they don’t care. Wouldn’t a school want to figure out what’s going on?? If I didn’t know the situation going on, that would be a huge red flag to a counselor or principal! No call, no questions. What if one of the kids were actually in a horrible situation at home? It blows my mind. Also, they will let ANYONE pick up your kid...no questions asked! My neighbor had to pick him up one day and I was going to call the school and let them know but I forgot. But guess what, he showed up, went in, signed him out, and they let him leave!!! Not once did they question it, not once did they ask who he was, or even ask for an ID or even call me!! And at parent pickup it’s the same way in the car line. They have you roll down your window, ask who your picking up and then they motion them to your car. Insane!!!

A Truly Exceptional School KCIA is a Gem!As a parent, finding the right school for your child can be overwhelming, but enrolling our children at Kansas City International Academy has been one of the best decisions we’ve ever made. My children come home excited about what they’ve learned and eager to return the next day. As a multilingual family, we’ve always felt understood and supported. Communication between home and school is consistent and meaningful. The translators and interpreters play a vital role, helping families stay connected and involved in their child’s education.Beyond academics, KCIA also instills strong values respect, responsibility, kindness that I see reflected in my kids every day. The summer school is poorly run and they allow TEACHERS to “cuss out” and threaten the children. When we tried to report this the PRINCIPAL, Ms. Hen, infact called me a liar and denied any request of action i suggested.

My experience as a parent with a student enrolled at Frontier schools has been nothing short of disheartening and frustrating. From the beginning, it was very clear that the school's priorities were far removed from the well-being and education of its students. Instead, the administration only cares about financial gains, leaving both students and parents feeling utterly neglected, and I can only imagine how the teachers must feel with having an administration that does not care for them at all. The passionate teachers who wanted the best for their students, were left unsupported and overwhelmed in an environment that provided no assistance and seemed to add to the chaos of both the students and the teachers alike. It was very clear to me that the administration's had no regard for the concerns of parents, students, or their own faculty. My own worries and complaints were routinely brushed aside, as if our concerns held no value to them. It was painfully apparent that decisions were made to maximize profits, with no real care for the wellbeing of the young minds entrusted to their care. They are overcrowding their classrooms and working their teachers to death. As far as a school environment that should nurture and inspire, Frontier school’s failed spectacularly and seems to actively strive for the opposite. The absence of any kind of support from the administration created a toxic atmosphere for all involved, and succeeded hindering not only my child's education but also their overall well-being. As a concerned parent, I strongly caution others against considering frontier for their children. Seek out schools where they don’t put money in front of your own child’s education and well being
