Incompetence is the only word I can politely type here. Want you daughter sexually assaulted at school and ignored by school administration? Want your kid to be sent back to class with a concussion? Probably not so avoid this school.

My daughter went to Thayer for 4th and 5th grade and had Mrs. Maurer and Ms.Desousza/Kimball. They all are extraordinary teachers and helped my daughter when she was struggling in Math. Thayer is an amazing school. The teachers and support staff really care about the children in there school. Small class sizes and excellent teacher/parent communication. My daughter has attended Thayer for 2 years now (2nd&3rd). I have been very pleased with the faculty and staff. The principal is very easy to talk to and truly cares about the kids. Both Mrs. Decker and Mrs. McQueen are very approachable, respond to emails quickly, and even share their phone number

It's very disturbing that a school district would make a fuss about picking kids up that live a mile or less from the school. The pick up and drop off plan is ridiculous. There is not enough parking around the school especially during pick up and that creates a dangerous atmosphere the kids and thier parents. I have witnessed several incidents where a child and thier parent were almost struck by a vehicle passing by the school during the heavy traffic congestion. Having busses pick up the children would absolutely eliminate that traffic issue and make the school experience a safer experience.
