Kehrs Mill Elementary School

We moved to Ballwin this year and got our kids registered in this school. So far, we have had a great experience with the primary school.

St. Clare of Assisi offers a wonderful academic program. They still teach English and handwriting that includes cursive. The art program is phenominal with ceramics, canvas painting and more. St. Clare definitely teaches the whole child which developes them for their academic future. The teachers are wonderful and caring. I can't recommend St. Clare of Assisi enough. It is a real community and so easy to become involved with great parents as well.

My son is in 5th grade. He spent 2nd and 3rd grades largely in the Pandemic with at least a few months of remote learning in second grade. Many children fell behind in this period. This school is academically superior in my opinion- as demonstrated by my son's grades which are top notch. His standardized testing scores (Iowas) and Renaissance Star Assessment grades which measure a child's progress throughout the year, are both well above average. The school currently has two awarded teachers this year. Should he continue in middle school he will be able to attend any Private Catholic high school he wishes to. This to me, is a testament to St Francis academics. There are excellent aftercare Clubs such as Journalism group/ KSFA, Chess etc. The school invests in programs such as SFA Broadway which are built into tuition. There is access to group sports through CYC. This is a smaller school with plenty of space and the children are spaced out well. It is small enough to feel like a community. The children grow with opportunities for Christian community responsibility and service, and with Christian Catholic values. Overall a well rounded, academically excellent and safe environment for a child to grow up in.
