Lily Lake Elementary School

We have three children that went through Lily Lake Elementary. Our youngest is now in 8th grade Stillwater Junior High. While attending an Eagle Award ceremony, we noticed something interesting, a disproportionate number of students receiving awards were from the same elementary school...Lily Lake! We asked on child's teacher, and his comment was, "Let's just say you can tell what kids came from Lily Lake..." I've always felt that way, but it was awesome hearing that come from a teacher at the junior high. Thanks to all the hard working teachers at Lily Lake. My family appreciate all you have done for them.

Lily Lake is the best school for our kids. Everyone will have an opinion. We had our oldest in one of the smaller "elite" schools in the district. She did really well, but felt academics shouldn't be the only focus. We made a switch after 2nd grade to Lily and have never regretted the choice!! The connections that the teachers and staff made with her at Lily were astounding. They go above and beyond. I am amazed how the staff can know so many names of kids not even in their class. Lily is diverse in many ways in the community and our kids benefit from it in every way possible. They are not isolated and shocked when they get into the real world. Our oldest graduated from Stillwater with several honors and our other kids attending Lily are well on their way on the same path and I feel that is truly because of each and every teacher and staff member!! Ask around and find out why so many teachers in the district have open enrolled to Lily as well.

I'm scratching my head wondering where these other reviews are coming from. I don't want to be overly negative, but we have been so unhappy that we are pulling our children out, as are many other parents. They need to think hard about the so-called "personalized learning pathway" and what they are doing to differentiate for children in the classroom. Kids who are academically advanced and those with special needs are neglected. This school is probably fine for perfectly average kids who fit nicely into the mold and respond well to the teacher-presented prescribed district curriculum. If you have a child on either end of the spectrum who needs something different, prepare to fight for it or look elsewhere.

I couldn't agree more with the last post. My children love this school! We moved here three years ago and I was amazed at the the quality schools we had to choose from here in Stillwater. After looking at a lot of schools, we decided on Lily Lake. It may not have the flash of some other schools in the area, but it does have an amazing staff. The secretaries, head custodian, paras, and of course the teachers all make this school special. We also loved the the job the sixth grade did preparing our oldest for junior high...simply amazing!
