Minnetonka East Middle School

I once reported bullying from two students 5+ times, and because they donated to the school a lot they literally never did anything about it. Reports to teachers yield a similar response from the school. I think back on my time back here as three years in hell.

I’ve had some terrible experiences with certain teacher that I won’t name. They force the swimming unit on you even if you don’t want to do it because you don’t feel comfortable being in that type of clothes (swimsuit) around your peers. One of my friends who has eczema but can’t get a doctors note is getting forced into doing the swimming unit even though her skin will break out and get very itchy do to the chlorine. The counselors don’t help if you have problems I know this first hand because I went to talk to my assigned counselor (they base off of your last name for example if your last name starts with A you’ll have a different counselor than someone who’s name starts with Z) and when I talked to her about my problems regarding the swimming unit she immediately shut me down and ignored all of the emails that I had sent her. This school is just overall depressing and sad because it feels like the same boring thing everyday. Also even though plenty of the teachers here are very kind and want what’s best for you I also happen to have many unpleasant, rude, and overall just weird teachers who will try to bring you down in their class.. two of these teachers would be my gym teacher and my global studies teachers. Not everyone but a lot of the kids in this school are very stuck up, judgmental, and rude (especially the 6th graders this year 2022-2023).

This school picks on your reace and is not a good school choice for your kids it sucks and they dont listen to u if u have something that is wrong

Our experience has been consistently positive. Administration and teachers are committed to excellence, and curriculum and extracurriculars provide a wealth of opportunities. The emphasis on academics (including significant amounts of homework) may create a challenging environment, but there appear to be strong support structures in place to help kids succeed. The Chinese immersion program offers added opportunity to participating families.

The vice-principal talks to adults and kids alike as if they are 5 years old. On top of that, the admin is only concerned that we don't look racist. The only non-white teachers are the Chinese and Spanish teachers. So the teachers and their bosses don't get what it is like to be a non-white.
