Loring Elementary School

Terrible. Thought it would improve after David Branch's dictatorial style was gone but new leadership is just the same. Very unapproachable. We changed schools and are so very happy we are gone from Lucy

I am writing to respond to the last review. What a terrible thing to say. My children attend Lakeview and are far from unfortunate. They go to school excited to learn each day and always come home with something to share. Lakeview has the most caring and hardworking teachers, and most importantly my children feel that. Lakeview is a very diverse school with a variety of needs, but we embrace that diversity and do not focus only on test scores. There is so much more that a standardized test to show what children are learning. I am sorry that your child had different experience, but please do not refer to my child as unfortunate. My children have had a wonderful experience at Lakeview!

My child was bullied mercilessly by one student and despite her own efforts and ours no one in the school believed her but one teacher. It got so bad we had to pull her out and home school her for the last portion of the school year. She wants to go to school so badly but is so scared because of this experience and is terrified it will happen again... she was only in kindergarten.

My son and neice go to this school and my nephew graduated from here. All are honor roll students. I'm not understanding the low rating. It's a great school. Academically especially!

I hate this school for several reasons, I recently had a health issue that resulted in me having frequent doctor's appointments and missing a significant amount of class. Although most of the teachers have been great (particularly in english and arts), there was no path to success after my injury. After asking the administration for a path back to my original grades, I was given very little. I was told to "change my expectations" on multiple occasions and assorted nonsense along that path. On a different note, the sciences are so awful at this school that it made me change my career path. After 9th grade physics, I gave up on trying to progress based on how difficult teachers were. My parents still pushed me however and I ended up taking both biology and chemistry this year. After a struggle to be placed in those classes, neither teacher helped me until I got the school learning coach involved. The students are god awful too. I was bullied for being depressed about my situation.
