Lakeview Elementary School

I don't like how segregated and nondiverse they are. The teachers dot get involved and don't make my kid feel comfortable there. do not go there. they also make a not creative environment and are very close-minded.

The principal at Lakeview really cares about the kids. Before my daughter started kindergarten Mr. O came to our house to introduce himself to her and our family and see if there was any questions she had about the school or starting kindergarten. He did this for all the kindergarteners and left a post card with his contact information. This gesture made such a positive impact going into the school year. We are proud our kids will go to Lakeview.

We have been proud to have our children attend this school. The staff is engaging and supportive on so many levels. We receive weekly communications from the staff, principal and teachers. We have also found that they are always willing to take a few moments in person discussing our children's individual progress or concerns that we may have, be it after class or at one of the schools social functions. We see that our children are provided many opportunities to learn in different ways and that this is defiantly not a one solution fits all environment by any stretch of the imagination. The instructors and office staff are well aware of the differing needs of each child and make great efforts to ensure that each child reaches their full potential. Test scores are not the only measurement of success, but they are evidence of a system that is focused on of finding and delivering ways to provide our children, at all levels of development and ability, the opportunity to be successful and to lay a solid foundation for todays complex and competitive environment.

This school is all about teaching to the test. If your child is bright and creative send them somewhere else. We spent the majority of the school year trying to convince our child that there is more than one way to solve a problem, despite the curriculum at the school that only teaches one way. They teach to only one type of learner, and do not have varied strategies to help other learners.

We transferred to Lakeview during my oldest son's kindergarten year from a 'supposedly' exceptional school on the east coast. Lakeview blew it away! The teachers have been able to provide tailored enrichment challenges to both my sons. Lakeview has excellent academically gifted enhancements to provide advanced kids growth opportunities. All of the teachers and staff are wonderful and caring. There is great parent involvement as well.
