Good school and community. They put the needs of the students as top priority. We have our kids in the district and would recommend.

As a former gifted student who transferred, all I can say is this district is a living hell. The staff is narrowminded and barely cares about their classes. There are also a select few teachers who have humiliated me for not being good enough (ex. not as athletic as the others). On the other hand, the academic teachers shut me down when I asked for help because I "should have known this". Then they force me to help the troubled kids because I could be a "good influence". Guess what happened. I was nearly assaulted and no one cared. The teachers had favorites and it soon became obvious that as long as you can play sports, you can get away with anything. Speaking of getting away with everything, the bullying was out of control. Sexual assault & harassment was more common than asking someone out. You get harassed and discriminated against for not being exactly like the others. I never felt safe. My mental health crumbled and I suffered extreme paranoia and worthlessness due to years of this bullying. So to wrap this up, if you're thinking of transferring to the GSL district, don't.

I truly have hated my time here. I have cried many times over the continued disrespect towards me by not only students but teachers. One teacher in particular has made my life a living hell. They not only humiliate me but they do it in front of the whole class. Im not the only one the teacher has done this to. I wish they would be fired.

Bullying and uncaring staff. This school has a very "good ole boys" mentality. Don't expect to fit in if you are new to the area. The school needs to be more focused on teaching the kids grammar than being so focused on sports. You are graduating kids who can't spell our write properly. Way to go GSL. Now I know why people say GSL = "gifted slow learners"

I truly hated my time here... I moved here from a Charter School and everyone bullied me here and the teachers did NOTHING about it. I went to K12 because I got tired of being here, and now I go to Waconia's Middle School. I love it there and I have absolutely no issues.
