Posted by a community member on 6/17/2021I love that the school has finally started to turn around over the past few years. My daughter loves the staff and the increase in higher level classes has caused our family to remain here at Fitz.

The teachers seem nice and all but being in the lower income of Warren this school is what you expect. It is not dangerous or anything to attend but kind of trashy. I would say the same as Hazel park which is where I went to,

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe are a school of choice family living in another county. My daughter has been going to Hoover since Kindergarten. She has done great at Hoover and has loved all her teachers. As a teacher in the district, I have to say that I have been very pleased to have my child at Hoover with some of the best teachers I've met in my years of teaching in the district. It helps that I work with my daughter at home and that she has excelled in her years thus far. We were approved for the school of choice program last year since we live outside the district.. I applied for the school of choice because all 3 of my sister's children all grown up and started and finished grade school there.. So far so good.. Me and my 5 year old love the school and the teachers.. She made good friends and playmates.. It's really a very warm and accepting little community for children and families too.. Kids are very well taken care of by the staff.. UNFORTUNATELY, school dropped her out of Transitional Kindergarten ONE MONTH REMAINING of this school year.. I submitted IN WRITING that she had to miss school on specific dates because we had to fly back to the Philippines for my extensive back therapy.. So she missed only 3 weeks of school plus 1 week intercession days.. So I was confident she wasn't going to be dropped out from school because I knew she was going to miss school LESS THAN A MONTH. To my surprise when we came back, THE OFFICE SAID THEY HAD TO DROP HER OUT and I need to re-enroll her to another school in the district where we live.. When I submitted the letter, I WAS NEVER TOLD THAT INTERCESSION BREAKS ARE PART OF THE SCHOOL DAYS..! And I can say there was a failure on the school's end to NOT INFORM A PARENT of that.. I am very frustrated that my daughter suddenly had to stop school because of their FAILURE TO INFORM.. I like the school.. I love the teachers.. I love how it is that it's close by our house.. I'd still send my daughter to Siersma this fall 2019.. That one time incident is the only not so good thing I can say with the school admin..Parent Review4y ago - Crown Of Life Lutheran School
