Sault Area Middle School

Terrible school for anything special education-related, in our experience. We do not believe they have realistic expectations of children, regardless of special education status, nor do we feel they encourage children's individuality or ability to think outside of the box. They appear to want every child to fit a traditional model of learning, with everyone else being left behind. Inconsistent and unreasonable discipline for minor situations while underreacting to major ones, in our view.Some staff appear to bully children based on their incorrect perception of childhood behaviors and have unfair biases toward children they perceive as challenging. In my opinion, if staff does not like your child, they will come at them full-force with the claim that they are the ones in charge; so if your child has emotional impairments or special needs, look elsewhere.

My child is being bullied so much at this school and no one is doing anything about it.
