Washington Elementary School

At face value this school is an amazing school to send your children to. If you're the typical American Family, then more likely than not, you'll have no issues at all here. However, this school, as well as every single Marysville school, lacks a full time dedicated nurse at each school for the children that have life threatening medical issues where it is required by law and through the ADA that they provide such an accommodation, as well as have their staff properly (expertly) trained on emergency situations and every day care for a child that does have medical needs. A secretary that's been pushed to the role of administrating medical needs with no history, background or formal training on what they're doing is completely unacceptable. When approached about this situation, I'm met with shoulder shrugs and "I don't know what to do". My child currently attends this school and has gone from a controlled type 1 diabetic child to an uncontrolled (dangerous) type 1 diabetic child because of how badly their medical needs are addressed. The entire district needs to be formally and properly trained on diabetes before they end up with a death of a child at the door stop.

We love Washington Elementary! This is my daughter's second and last year at the school (we are new to the area) and you would think that she had been there since Kindergarten. The office staff is very pleasant and always helpful. The teachers love the kids and are very good about keeping parents informed. We are going to miss Washington next year when she moves on to the middle school.

Washington is an amazing school. The teachers are great with the kids, the administration and staff are wonderful, every person who works in this school is loving and caring towards the children. They treat them as if they were their own kids. The STP is VERY involved in the school and work many hours to make sure the school and kids have all the "extras" that are not covered in the school budget. The school hosts many after school events for kids and families. Everyone goes above and beyond to make Washington Elementary the great school that it is. I have never seen anything like it!!!!
