Botsford Elementary School

they gave us assigned seats in lunch. i don’t get it, whats the point of taking our only communication time. “to be successful” to be successful in what..? eating..? what about being successful in mental health? why can’t they just change the people to have trouble the most, why do we have to suffer just because of what other people did, this school is so stupid, they wonder why they have bad ratings , kids who cut themselves, and have a bad mental it’s because of this dumb school. they think these assemblies will help everything, they know it doesn’t thats why they have them every year. im so tired of this school they have rats and roaches, they pretend to be the best school ever but no, its just teaching kids how to do whatever they want, they think yelling and being mad with fix everything but no, actually TALK to the kids instead of yelling and screaming, its my last year here thank god. i’ve been here since kindergarten and trust me. your on your own after 4th grade here.

My child has only been at this school for 4 months but so far so good.

Unfriendly front office staff - especially for little kids. They should have the happiest and bubbliest of them all. Principal handles nothing appropriately - hard to communicate with. Too harsh of punishments for stupid things, especially at recess. No punishments or write-ups for serious things. Teachers are hit or miss. No cross guard at a major walkway. Terrible parking lot. Field trips are terrible for fourth graders - there really aren’t any.

Their pick up and drop off routine is extremely dangerous. I see kids nearly getting hit almost everyday. They have 3 lanes of car traffic and expect the kids from the far and middle lane to bob and weave thru traffic and depending on all cars to be paying attention. That’s not realistic. There should be one lane of cars. This will eliminate confusion and prevent kids from getting hurt or killed! They also don’t handle unruly kids disrupting the classroom appropriately. Rather than remove 1 disruptive child from the class room they make 20+kids leave the classroom “for their safety”. They stop educating 20+kids over 1 kid having a meltdown. Then when a child is actually injured in the midsts of the meltdown and the child makes known they got hurt not one teacher checked the child or made a phone call to the parent their was an incident in the classroom. At this point educating and keeping kids safe is not a top priority. Yelling at parents and kids in the mornings for not wearing masks or not staying in what they think are magic yellow lines in the parking lot is their top priority.

They are a family and a community.
