Read what parents are saying about Great Lakes Elementary SchoolPoor. This is my daughters first year at this school and I have been less than impressed. Holland East had the bar set quite a bit higher and I am saddened that it is no longer an elementary school.

Posted by a parent on 10/21/2012There is a buzz about this elementary school. We are finding that our children are doing great things at this school. Caring about the world around them and learning everyday what it means to do your best. I would highly recommend this school. The teaching staff is passionate and works hard to prepare all children.

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageLakewood is an elementary school with a record of outstanding achievement and parent involvement. Its teachers are highly dedicated to doing the best for their students. They communicate concerns and accomplishments. Lakewood is a safe place for kids both physically and emotionally. Teachers work to create a caring culture. Because Lakewood is blessed with many students with special needs, stidents learn to be patient, respectful, and caring to people with diverse needs. I send my own children to Lakewood because of the friendly culture and focus on high academic achievement. I also know that if my child needs remediation teachers will address his needs and keep me informed. If you're looking for a school with amazing educators, a close community of support, and friendly students, call Lakewood Elementary!Parent Review8y ago - Waukazoo Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe have had an amazing experience at Waukazoo. The teachers, new principal and staff are fantastic. In addition to academic growth, Waukazoo builds character and provides a warm, welcoming environment for kids to learn in each day.Parent Review4y ago - Woodside Elementary School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is full of wonderful teachers! The principal knows most of the kids by name and is very involved. I have been so happy to send my daughter to this school, it is very diverse. The kids have so much fun at activities planned by the PTO. This year they did a much better job at communicating with parents. Do not hesitate to send your child there, it's a great place.Parent Review9y ago - Pine Creek Elementary School

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI didn't care for this school. Maybe it's because we're from Northern Michigan and this was a culture shock for us. My child was always miserable. When they would have an indoor recess the children were made to be quiet and sit in their seats. That is insane, these kids needs to burn energy. There were often police in the classrooms bullying the children about bullying. I did however like my child's teacher and felt that she was doing her best. Overall this was a horrible school.Parent Review10y ago - Lakeside Montessori

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI can't say enough good things about Lakeside. The teachers are caring and supportive, but don't baby the children. My daughter attended two years of pre-school there, was reading and doing basic math at four. What's more, she learned self direction and a love of learning (thank you Maria Montessori!). The lead teacher continued to support our family when I asked advice about area public kindergartens. Everyone else here is spot on. This is the best pre-school in Holland, hands-down.Parent Review9y ago - Rose Park Christian School
