Gesu is a great, inclusive community with strong academia/staff and fun extracurriculars. Our 2 kids (5 & 9) love it. Shout out to the parent organization and dad’s club too!

Happy I switched my kids school to Barber Preparatory Academy. The staff is familiar with kids on a first name basis. They let the kids know they love and care for them. Teaches use class Dojo, communication is good between parents and staff. It’s my kids second year with the school and will continue.

As a parent I do not recommend this school to anyone. There is a huge lack of communication between faculty and the parents about what is going on with their child. They are quick to call home after a situation has escalated to far but not about the progress children's grades during the semester. It is not until report cards are given that I am made aware that my child is falling behind and not when the problem is arising so that me as a parent and the teacher can discuss the steps that need to be taken to get my child the help they need. They don't really care about helping the children. If they did they would be more involved with the parents as well.

It is horrible all the students do is fight and argue the teachers act like children and there is little to no parental involvement. And the food at this school looks like prison food. Another thing teachers keep grabbing and putting their hands on students for little things like asking to go to the restroom.

My children have been in GWCA for over 8 years. I filled out my reenrollment for my children and grandson in the spring as scheduled every year. I was not given a bus form. There are new rules which now require a 72 hour wait period after completion of the form to ride the bus. I was told by someone that they cannot assume that we needed the bus. Well first of all you cannot assume not. We have been utilizing the bus the entire time of my children being registered at GWCA. There are Sped documents in place and children are supposed to be safe. I am very disappointed in this process as I am at work until 4 on the other side of town We were out of town on last week when they had the event for students to meet their teachers. I did send an email and I received a reply. No one shared with me the bus rules. I am at this point not feeling supported. I was told that today my children can ride the bus home but cannot ride again until Tuesday.

I love the teachers and their passion to teach are children. The principal is excellent and also shows great expectations for Nolan.
