Dukette Catholic School

My grandaughter has now attended Doyle-Ryder for a little over a year now and has autism. This school is absolutely terrible at handling any child with special needs. Last year she was expelled 10 times for behavior. No IEP in place until almost 4 months into the school year. The teachers and parapros are absolutely incompetent in handling an autistic child that is over stimulated. This year even with an IEP in place they still continue to let her get to the point where she is so overstimulated she's lashing out instead of deescalating the situation. This school is not equipped to handle children with disabilities. As a tax payer i want to know why there is no quiet rooms. Why if a parapro doesn't show up are they calling my daughter and telling her not to let her go to school. They have now suspended her for the second time this school year. She is in 4th grade and doesnt know that the first thing you do when you get a worksheet you put your name on it. I just taught her that. In addition, how has she gotten this far in school and cant spell her last name? Isn't this something her teacher or parapro should be helping her learn? But how is she supposed to learn if they are kicking her out of school every week for something she cant control in an environment that is chaotic at the least. They can afford to put a $15,000 koy pond in the lobby but cant afford an extra room for a quiet room or more experienced parapros? Make this make sense. Last week a faculty member threatened my daughter to call the police on my 9 year old grandaughter. And this is how they handle things there. If your child has any sort of disability, this is not the school for them. If i could give them less then 1 star I would.

I got my daughter from this school this summer. I stay in a different state and for my child to be seven years old and don't know how to read the word four. The teacher really not to be fired and the school board need to shut them down paying them to do what exactly? I'm so glad that my child will never be Goin back to that school are anyone of them school again yall need to be better. Oh I almost forgot about the part she just left kindergarten before the summer started these kids are our future y'all need way more education done for them.

This school is awful. My kid has special needs and they continue to treat him unfairly and not follow through with their promises. They are not complying with the 504 either.
