Read what parents are saying about Marble SchoolI have had three generations of my family go to Marble. It’s newly built. The teachers are great. Students from ELPS go on to Ivy League institutions, the University of Michigan, and Michigan State which offers many programs and classes to students at East Lansing Schools.
Posted by a community member on 3/6/2024-previous studentI am currently in 8th grade, and live in a whole other state. I can safely say that I'll never forget my experience at Marble. If you're looking for schools in the area, I highly recommend!!!
Posted by a community member on 3/27/2017Marble is an excellent school full of caring teachers and a great new principal. All of the staff are working on differentiating instruction to meet all kids' needs.
Posted by a parent on 2/21/2016Marble Elementary School is fine. It's safe, most parents and kids are happy, and teachers try hard. Negatives: It's not academically rigorous with a goal of reaching minimum standards. Principal turnover is high, and teachers--who are almost all amazingly dedicated educators--are challenged by large class sizes, small classrooms, rotating leadership, and classroom management challenges. Pros: Families are actively involved and there is a deep community feeling. Heavy emphasis on getting along/being friendly. Talented and dedicated teachers trying their best. Children are generally happy and lots of families who really LOVE Marble for its supportive social environment.
Posted by a parent on 8/25/2015We are considering moving into another district a Marble seems to be going back further to the 19th century in terms of lowering expectations for students, increasing boring repetitive worksheet curriculum and doing away with project learning and field trips, and increasing class sizes. Fundraising, sports and behavior take priority over academics. The principal is always in a hurry and not parent friendly.

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AveragePros: More diversity than you would expect in EL + they seem to serve kids with special needs well. Cons: My kids are not special needs, and are not challenged. RE: bullying: I have seen some teachers coddle bullies. I get some kids bully bc of tough home life, but they must find balance between compassionate caring without enabling. ps. There is a comment earlier in here about white bullies. The bullies my kids have face were not white, so a different experience with that, I guess.Parent Review6y ago - Whitehills Elementary School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageHorrible. There are so many excellent public schools in the area. My children were ill-prepared for the rigor of the schools once leaving this school. They missed out on so much opportunity and education while at this school. I wish that I had pulled them earlier. I could not be more happy with the public schools in the area. Very grateful we found them when we did.Parent Review5y ago - St Thomas Aquinas Parish School
