2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThey don’t have enough resources for children who are in need of special education classes and children with special needs in general. The psychologist was only there one day of the week and some days she was there she didn’t always get to see the children. You can’t walk your child to class or do drop-ins to check on your child. There are not enough activities for the kids to participate in.Parent Review1y ago - Oak Grove Day Care Center & Kinder

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI had a bad experience at this school. i said it was bad because the teachers at this school didn't teach us right, and when students would ask for help the teachers would ignore them. I honestly never asked for help but when some people would ask to go to the restroom the teachers wouldn't allow them to go and would tell them to wait until we left. Parents were not pleased with the way this school was set and the was the teachers behaved. The students there where mischievous and didn't listen. The school was messed up and not taken care of. Windows where broken, bathroom stall doors missing, classroom doors where broken, there wasn't an actual gym or any sport classes. To top all of this off there was always wild life animals in the back of the school. For example there where deer's,bears, snakes, etc. The police where up to this school multiple times because of how students acted and this school was just unsafe and unhealthy. School served lunches where always cold and sometimes they would serve old or molded food to the students. I feel as if that all staff where acting this way was because they were getting paid 34,421 dollars. Because of this i feel that they didn't care about how the students where learning nor did they care about the students health. There was also no heat and there was a lot of fighting. The inside of the school was infected because there was a dead rat in the middle of three vents in the classrooms. There was a lot of bugs and there was a strong odor that wasn't every health to inhale. I highly recommend for not one parent to send there kids to a school like this unless you want your child coming home sick almost everyday or you want them to get hurt.Parent Review3y ago - Macdowell Preparatory Academy

1/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThere is no behavior enforcement at this school. The students do whatever they want inside and outside of the classroom. This greatly affects ALL students in the class' ability to learn. It also greatly affects the children who are on the right track to follow the majority of the children onto the wrong track; their behavior and respect level diminishes. The children do not take their classes or school seriously and can pass with little to no effort all school year. The childrens' focus is on romance with one another rather than on learning and witnesses have told me that the teachers and staff do nothing about this focus on romance and that much of the staff and teachers actually encourage it or just look past kids kissing in the hallway or girls and boys chasing one another hitting them to flirt in the hallways. They do this when they are late for and should already be in class as well as before class time starts.Parent Review1mo ago - Bow Elementary-Middle School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBates Academy has very poor response to children and parent complaints of bullying. The administrative staff is slow to respond, if they even choose to take action at all. The supervision is awful with 30 students to one instructor and 90 students to one recess assistant, which leads to children being bullied as the adults look on. Their bias toward male students is downright abhorrent. They expect male students to ignore and accept verbal abuse from other students because, "he's a boy and he shouldn't be bothered by what a girl says." Its a toxic environment where the teachers are no longer able to challenge the students and the administrative staff couldnt care any less. When the administrative staff os asked to address grade wide issues, they downright refuse to, allowing children to continue to suffer being bullied for same exact reasons by various students. I DO NOT RECOMMEND SENDING YOUR CHILD TO THIS SCHOOL.Parent Review11mo ago
