This school is ancient and like historical, but it's not a horrible school the students just need an adjustment in their mental system myself partially included. In all honesty, if you have a good kid send them here they could do good for it.

They have excellent after school programs that are available to all students, and their “Academic Games” program that is ran by Mrs. A Buckner & Mrs. Bolden is on

The problem we had was with the math teacher The school most definitely can use a face lift without a doubt. Other than that I love Dossin. I think it's more family orient which id a good thing

Im very thankful for all the things the staff does for not just the students but the parents also. Detroit Community goes above and beyond the call of duty when it comes to the students. Coats are given to students in the winter at no charge, backpacks and all school supplies are given to the students free of charge which is a big help to us as parents. Detroit Community School academic curriculum goes above state standards which prepares the students for the next grade level and beyond. The staff is always available to talk and meet at all times with parents and students. Detroit Community School also provides free tutoring as well as latch key and aftercare for students that assist parents with later work schedules. Detroit Community School is A true blessing for me as a parent. Since the staff are only concerned with the problem children, unfortunately, your child will be left behind. All of the honor roll children are left to defend for themselves. The principal is not worth a damn thing! Ever since Mr. Robinson have been the principal the school has declined in every shape you can possibly think of. None of the children respect him, because he talks down to them & he’s always bragging about the money he makes being in charge of the school. I can go on & on…This is a warning to our concerning parents do not send your child to this school and expect greatness! This school is only for CHILDREN WITH PROBLEMS!!
