Posted by a teacher on 3/31/2014Discipline is very out of control and unmonitored. The teachers and administration seem to not find detention or in-school suspension are not useful or mandatory. Student background and prior knowledge is also unmonitored. These things usually help the teacher to accommodate learning and help in tea

I love the teachers there because they take their time into helping students that are struggling. My son has improved quickly with his reading and spelling. NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI love St.Cecilia I went to school here 30 something year ago and when I look for a school for my daughter it was first on my list not only was it still there I still feel like I am home. They let the kids know they love and care for them. Teaches use class Dojo, communication is good between parents and staff. 3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageDurfee Prek-8th grade is on its way to greatness. We have a new principal that seems to have the students best interest in mind. The school is an older school, however many updates have been made. Some updates include fresh painted walls, a welcome center at the entrance of the school and decorated walls that encourage what the students are being taught. This school has received negative reviews in past time but I beg to differ. We have great leadership and teachers that care about the students. All of the teachers have advanced degrees three are doctors and one of them also instructs at the University of MIchigan Ann Arbor Campus. The school offers many opportunities for the students i.e. internships, college courses, sports (State Champions), and broadening excursions.
