Posted by a parent on 5/18/2021We moved to Lawton for the school and couldn’t be happier with the quality of our kids teachers and the small knit community. We love everyone walking to school. Parents and teachers are really involved and dedicated. This is one of the best elementary schools in Ann Arbor.

This is our second year at Lawton and Lawton is our first school in A2 that we have attended. The biggest issue you will find with Lawton is with the Principal and their ineffective leadership. They do not follow policies

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageJo Ann (the vice principal) is a bully and demonstrates passive aggressiveness towards other adults, which creates a very toxic environment. The principal doesn't even respond to emails or phone calls. The teachers are nice and seem to genuinely care about the kids. If the administration fails, how can the school function?
