Read what parents are saying about Memorial Middle SchoolThe staff at this school is amazing! They have helped my child so much.
Posted by a parent on 11/25/2023Memorial is a great school to learn and It is mostly bully-free. We DO have assemblies about how to avoid bulling and the civil wrights team does a lot about that, Bulling is not a big big problem in our school. The teachers have a heart and DO care for their pupils. The vice principal and principal dedicate their time to the students and they will care if one of their students are bullied or anything happens. They are nice to everybody and they know everybody by heart. The classes challenge students from academically gifted from students that really need help in simple tasks. The sports teams and clubs are great and they have a interest for every student. I believe that everything the post from june 26th, 2009 is the exact opposite. Memorial is one of the best Junior Highs in Maine in my opinion.
Posted by a community member on 10/11/2010I love Memorial Middle School because it has enabled my grandson Philip to excel throughout his three years in attendance there! The teachers and staff are wonderful and really help each and every student to realize their potential and get them ready for admittance to high school learning!

1/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBoth of my children went to Reiche. I don't usually post reviews online, but after seeing the horrible rating on this site, I felt compelled. The teachers are incredible: hardworking, intelligent, creative, and caring. They are so good at building community in an amazingly diverse school for Maine. The international potluck will rock your tastebuds and the talent show will have you weepy at least once. I am a teacher in one of the rich suburban schools nearby and am so glad my kids went to Reiche!Parent Review4mo ago - Waldo T Skillin Elementary School

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThank goodness we found a home in Scarborough school system. I cannot even begin to describe the horrors I went though with not only the previous principal but multiple uneducated teachers at this school. They allow bullying with just a slap on the wrist not only from children but my daughters teacher (won’t name names but the second grade teacher) who continuously harassed and targeted my day he her, thankfully I was able to switch her teacher that year and she was able to have a good rest of the school year. My daughter was considered above her level for math and reading and now entering Scarborough we are finding that is she is JUST where she needs to be and Kaler really dumbs things down for the non-English speaking children unfortunately, so if you want your children to get the most out of their education I would consider another school system. This is also coming from a mom who has attended all South Portland schools growing up and let’s just say I am so blessed and happy to have my daughter attending Wentworth where she can really grow her mind.Parent Review1y ago - Greater Portland Christian School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWent to GPCS from K-12 grade and could not be more thankful for my parents choice to send me to this school. So grateful to have had a Christian education and have had the opportunities GPCS granted me. Some of my closest lifelong friends I had the privilege of growing up with at this school. Teachers care. They get paid less than if they were to work at public school but almost everyone of them goes above and beyond and will stay after school to help any student if they need it on there own time. Education here is so affordable comparatively and in my opinion the best you can find anywhere in Maine.Student Review4y ago - St. Patrick's School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur three kids have had an exceptional 1.5 years thus far at Waynflete and we have excellent things to say about the teaching staff, administration, and culture that has been built at the school. Every teacher is intensely committed and focused on seeing students not only grow from an academic perspective, but also as a person - developing the skills necessary to navigate the evolving world around us. Each teacher our kids have had thus far are true educators who are committed to seeing their students succeed AND working with parents and the administration to make sure there is a true team supporting the development of the student. As a result of this, Waynflete has developed a culture that balances both excellence and psychological safety, while focusing on the whole child. There are very few schools in Maine that have the resources and passion to pull this off, and Waynflete is certainly in the top of that group.Parent Review1y ago
