My daughter is in 1st grade at this school and my review is of course limited to our experience. She absolutely loves this school. We won a spot in the charter school lottery this year and turned it down. I have found the teachers to be extremely responsive and the principal goes above and beyond. A

There is some good and some bad about this school. The academic testing scores are rough, but I attribute a lot of that to the 'teaching to the test' model PG county schools have used instead of a more holistic way of teaching. I want to say great things about this school, but of course this is my experience from August 2014 to present. 1) No heat in some classrooms in the winter 2) No air in some classrooms in the summer 3) The cafeteria food is disgusting and my son begs for a homemade lunch daily. (What boy does that?)

We love St. Mary's. Our kids started attending after Covid and this year will be three years. My son is in first grade and probably reading at a third grade level. With the exception of one or two, the teachers we've had have been great. The preschool teachers are amazing, very caring. There is a strong sense of community, high patent involvement and the principal has always dealt with issues in an appropriate manner. I'd highly recommend St.Mary,'s.
