Bad management coupled with very weak staff.
Posted by a community member on 9/6/2023I had to visit the school to enroll my children there is a language issue the lady at the front desk was extremely helpful. She helped me to navigate my phone and she called one of the workers to help with the language issue. I had concerns about a few other things and she put my mind at ease.

This is an issue for all parents but especially for immigrant parents and this is a school that serves an immigrant population. First the Secretary was not available at 8 am when we arrived

The very active PTA brings a lot of extra programming to this school and the children are happy and well prepared for 3rd grade when they leave. Both of our children

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWhen Principal Hedlund led the school, we were having a more positive experience. There was accountability within the staff and parents. Communication was clear and much better. Since Principal Russell has stepped in, that has all gone down hill. There’s been several safety concerns that goes unaddressed or parents aren’t aware until AFTER it’s happened. The teachers are poor communicators (especially in the 4th grade), no accountability and often show favoritism. As many have stated, the principle Ms. Lowndes is amazing. The teachers here care so much about the development of the children in all areas. They are very responsive and seem to know every kid like the back of their hand. Very high paced and intensive curriculum especially in reading/writing/math. They feel free to come as they are and learn deeply. Neither of them has experienced undue stress over school, although they have been challenged. They are comfortable to try new things, including any sport they want, playing instruments, taking part in plays, running for student government, giving speeches, and being away from home for Lowell’s fantastic capstone trips. My daughter attended the daycare from 2 years old until the pandemic and now my son is 4 in the PreK program. I consider Quality Time a part of the family. Considering that my daughter is now 10 and I still remember all of her teachers, this place has truly made an impact in our lives. She's had a strong academic journey thanks to the amazing start at this center. Since leaving this center, my daughter has excelled academically and continues to be at the top of her class.
