Community Reviews
We absolutely love Mount Rainier Elementary! We especially value the strong community feel and that our kids go to school with their neighbors and friends. There’s a great mix of longtime staff who have been there for decades and newer staff, including our principal, who has been making some really
Posted by a parent on 9/8/2026The school has been very welcoming and my daughter loves going there. Scores are rising and students are engaged. The new principal is giving the school life. It's a wonderful community to be a part of.
Posted by a parent on 9/8/2026MRES is one of the smallest schools in the entire Prince George's county---it has a cozy neighborhood feel that is unusual for the area. My son is in the second grade and so far all three of his teachers have been great. It does struggle a bit with resources but there is an active PTO that has grown
Posted by a parent on 6/12/2019Schools are what you make of them in many cases. If you are expecting to send your kid here and then have zero involvement or follow through at home or at the school with their education then this school may not meet your needs. If you are white and/or middle class and your kid has only been raised
Posted by a parent on 6/12/2019I find the building and staff inviting. I believe the staff sincerely cares about the well being of the students. I observed the dismissal and found it very orderly.

Teachers seem to have a family like relationship but taking a deeper dive one would find that there are many issues beyond the walls that start from the top.Other Review7y ago - Perry Street Prep PCS

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur family is so grateful for Perry Street Prep/ From the moment you walk through the doors, you can feel that it’s a safe, welcoming environment where every child is known and valued. The staff and teachers genuinely care—they know my child by name and take the time to understand their interests, strengths, and needs.Parent Review1y ago - Langdon Elementary School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe've been at BHES for two years now and it's wonderful. The principal is great and sets the tone for a truly amazing group of teachers and staff. There's a highly active PTO, extra curricular activities, and a close knit community of families that all love the school and are dedicated to making everyone successful. After our first year we decided that we're not bothering to lottery in future years.Parent Review4mo ago - Mary McLeod Bethune Day Academy PCS

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am also concerned about how situations involving children are being handled. There have been interactions that felt unfair and disrespectful, starting with the school leadership. As a parent, this raises serious concerns about whether all children are being treated equally and respectfully.Parent Review6mo ago
