Read what parents are saying about Academy Of Health Sciences At PgccMy son really has appreciated the experience at this school. I as a parent find the communication with parents a bit lacking but when I have contacted a teacher have received a gracious response..
Posted by a parent on 9/2/2017My child is a year 4 student here and all and all, I'm happy with his education. I have very mixed feelings about having sent my child here vs the traditional high school setting. The school does offer quality education with the college courses, but abundantly lacks with a social existence and social activities. I will be the first to tell you, education comes first. Well, I've learned alongside my child, that the social side, while not as important as the education side, is still very very essiential, and at this school, it's non existent. IN addition, this school is a fairly new school and it's more interested in "the school" (right now)than the students. I think, it's impacted my child (negatively) being a part of a "new" school. When applying to colleges, I found that they were very interested in the middle college concept, but ultimately, I got the sense that they felt this experience was too new (in our area). We will deal with the hand that we've been dealt, but please look at all angles when considering this middle college for the next several years. While it has fantastic possibilties and can ultimately turn into something great, it's not there yet.

Posted by a parent on 2/4/2015I am very pleased with my child's academic success so far. The faculty and staff are great. Dr. Andrews really loves these kids and it shows. So glad we are a part of this wonderful program.
Posted by a parent on 2/3/2015I love AHS@PGCC, the administrative staff genuinely care about the students well being, safety and learning. The daily school routine is pretty structured and the students know what to expect and they act accordingly. The students are definitely put on the right track to becoming high achievers, accountable, independent and team goal oriented. The school prepares the students for college courses in the 9th grade and they advance through the 11th, by the 12th grade they are taking all college course and prepared to graduate with a high school diploma and an Associates Degree. I commend the high school administrators, college administrators, students and parents for their part in making the program work.

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy kids have attended Kingsford for 2 years and overall we have been pleased with the experience. Coming from years at private school we weren't sure what to expect. We quickly realized that in all subjects the curriculum was ahead of or on par with what was being taught at the private school and the class work is appropriately challenging. My main criticism of the school is that its bullying policy is not enforced and it seems as though some of the more troublesome students aren't appropriately dealt with which creates a disruption for entire classrooms. That said, we have been pleased with and impressed by the hands on approach of the school's leadership, particularly the principal and vice principal. Some of the teachers are exceptional and take seriously the need to adapt to different learning styles.Parent Review5y ago - Kettering Elementary School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIn my 50 years of teaching as a sub I have never met such disrespectful and disgraceful children in my life!!! The 5th graders are HORRIBLE they scream they shout they curse, they fight . THE WHOLE SHABANG. For your safety and your child’s safety never send your children to this school EVER.Teacher Review1mo ago - Lake Arbor Elementary School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageRiverdale academics are above the public school's in PG County. My child informed me multiple times of transfers who come in from public schools behind the curve in what they are currently learning. Unfortunately, the school is older and we have experienced several maintenance issues which closes the school. It is also a religious school so they do not participate in many social activities including prom's. Most recently the high school principal left and was replaced with the history teacher, when she left her entire family who all held positions in the school left with her. To me it was a very obvious "hook-up" and now the freshman who are now sophomore's had to deal with such a significant change. Same for the Football program, i believe all resources are placed into their baseball program. Riverdale is a good school but it really seems like they are stuck in the 70s. They also lack transportation and you have to pay for before or after care services. For almost $14k a year you would think you would get more than just a good curriculum. I would still recommend this school cause education is what matters most but for parents considering this school be mindful that's all that the school will offer as well.Parent Review1y ago - Mitchellville Montessori School
