Read what parents are saying about North County High SchoolOver populated and the kids are horrible
Posted by a parent on 3/24/2022There are fights every day. Faculty rarely tells parents about it but it's all over social media. The halls are so overcrowded kids often come to a full stop, despite COVID. There are some great teachers, but most don't care about the kids. They care about compliance. They don't nurture or pay attention to different learning styles. They aren't there to shape minds and hearts. Instead they seem to enjoy lording power over kids versus actually engaging them and making a difference. Guidance counselors are a joke and barely check in. Parental involvement doesn't make a difference.
Posted by a parent on 12/8/2021The teachers are awesome and the school is very safe and clean.
Posted by a community member on 1/23/2017It's not a bad school , but you have to continuously reach out to the staff regarding your student.
Posted by a community member on 7/13/2016This is a good school. There are students who attend this school and take every opportunity they have to learn and join various sports teams or clubs. Then there are students who just go to school to pass time and hang around in clicks. If only every student really wanted to learn, develop social skills and make goals for their future. These students are the future of our country. All students need good leadership and qualified teachers but they also need the examples of parents who show moral responsibility, dependability, a good work ethic and most of all love. This could be a GREAT school if everyone, including some students did their job. I am the grandparent of students who attend North County.

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy experience with this school was something I'm very happy I no longer have to deal with. The community seems nice, quite. I don't know how things were inside the classroom because of covid restrictions we were never allowed inside, nor allowed to drop off a lunch or drink for our children if they had been forgotten. My child's IEP was not taken seriously and I was given false information about how often I was allowed to receive an IEP meeting. I felt as though I was constantly brushed off. The drop off and pick up situation is horrendous. My child was just left unattended numerous times to do things that the schools explanation to was just "Oh Well". In the county you don't have a choice, your child goes to the school they are zoned for and that's it. Unless you have money and can pay to send your child to private school.Other Review11mo ago - Overlook Elementary School
