Posted by a parent on 8/5/2025Monocacy Elementary is a great school. The teachers are top notch and so caring to the students! The support staff and Principal are fantastic. The school offers a lot of support and resources to the children. The PTA host several event throughout the year, which is really nice.
Posted by a parent on 5/16/2022The principal is very enthusiastic and does a wonderful job communicating with kids and parents. The teachers all seem to enjoy being there and are always polite and helpful. Fun events are always planned by the school as well as the PTA.

Yeah, it's not a brand new school and they have portables, but the teachers and family events they have are amazing. They always try to have parents involved in the students academics. They have family evening

Kids with severe learning disabilities not separated from other students, thus constantly disrupting the class and not affording those students the teaching they need. A counselor in a classroom, students distracting with profanity outbursts and running out of classrooms yelling "I want to go home" This is just the first three months of school. Also, my child has had homework twice this year. Twice. I verified and there is no homework, and when it is given ( 2 times) it is ridiculous how low a bar this school sets for its children. It is impossible to learn with children with disabilities constantly distracting the class. Bringing a counselor in the classroom only creates more distraction. I took my child here because we HAD to. But i am looking in to moving just to get another school, this has been an absolutely heart breaking experience. The principal is so rude and doesn't listen to the kids, often telling them to shut up. It is so disrespectful and unfair to the children at this school. Children get suspended for false accusations all the time and the teaching is mediocre at best. The only good teacher for my student was the science teacher, who actually cares about the students learning and about the student.
