Read what parents are saying about Frederick High SchoolI recently graduated from Frederick High School. I loved it! I wouldn't want to change my high school experience at all. All the students take great pride in attending Frederick High. The amount of school spirit is amazing. The school is super diverse which I love. It really does prepare us for the real world. The physical school isn't too great but there are plans for a brand new building. Im going into college with 30 credits because of all the AP courses I took. There are a wide variety of courses to choose from and the teachers are great. The teachers do a great job at preparing the students for the tests and more. They want us to be ready for college and to do so, they challenge the students. The only concern is, there isn't a great amount of support for IEP students. But over all I think its a great school.
Posted by a student on 8/22/2014I currently attend and I'm a junior. I love this school, the kinds and teachers are great. Very little drama, and everyone is pretty chill. Mr. Barber, Mr. Lewis, Mrs. Manley, Mr. Krumptich, Mr. Johnson, and Mr. , all made my time here wonderful, I'm very sad to leave.
Posted by a community member on 8/14/2014This is my first year here at FHS. I'm a sophomore, and so far, I love this school. The teachers are great and they know what they're doing without any hesitation. Other students here at FHS are very friendly and welcoming. I'm glad to be part of the FHS Cadets!
Posted by a student on 8/27/2013I have one child who graduated from Frederick w/ a fantastic education, near perfect SAT scores and 7 AP classes. She had great teachers. I also have a Freshman now. Frederick's unique because of it's diversity. It allows everyone the opportunity to be themselves w/ no pressure to conform. When 9/11 took place, Frederick was one of the only high schools in the country (yes country) that didn't have racial fighting among it's students. Want proof? The school was asked to, and did, participate in a video (that is shown to other high schools) that encourages tolerance. Our students are prepared for Real life! Real life is diversity! The Principal is a fantastic leader who commands respect . The school offers more AP classes than any school in the county & is the only one that offers AP World History.
Posted by a parent on 9/29/2010i attended frederick high for all four years (go class of 08) and i found it to be both a good and bad experience. i had some excellent teachers, but i had some that just didn't seem to care about their students. the admin. was not attentive to the student body and i found it very easy to get away with most things. there were also a lot of fights and i saw a kid get arrested once too, and a kid got taken to the hospital. the food had its ups and downs. but the janitorial staff was very friendly and nice. all in all i think it could use some remodeling, or maybe some portables or something. it is very overcrowded and some students are not attended to as well as others. i'm not saying don't go to fhs, but just be careful when you do.

My two are not English native speakers but they have improved their English skills in just one year. They have done a job during this virtual learning time.Parent Review3y ago - Monocacy Valley Montessori School

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe moved to the area a year ago and after reading this site I was extremely concerned. After now being here for a year I will say that my opinion has changed dramatically. The teachers my kids have had go above and beyond. They are incredibly communicative and overall amazing!!! Everything about this school is great!Parent Review5y ago - Calvary Weekday School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter spent her middle school years at Vis. She is excelling in public high school, is in the magnet program, and is taking an AP class her freshman year. She received straight A's on her report card throughout her freshman year. I feel is was the small class sizes and same teachers (for the most part) that gave her the confidence to succeed in high school. I am happy with my decision to send her there and have other daughters at the school.Other Review7y ago
