Dunloggin Middle School is overcrowded. There are fights regularly in the hallways. Last year one of the girls bathrooms was out of order all school year. There are mice. My daughter had close to no homework for three years in a row. It is not a good school, period.

Posted by a parent on 1/10/2025For decades, this school has been known for bullying. I just don’t understand why or how, frankly. The school is way too crowded to adequately deal with that many kids at that age in such a relatively small setting. If your kid has anxiety or learning differences, he/ she will get eaten alive. Avoid

Kids are vaping and having inappropriate behaviors going on in the bathrooms. Much drama is happening and the principal can’t seem to handle the school. Teachers seem frustrated. 9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSo many good things to say about this school and it’s and administration. We moved from Arlington, VA where there were top notch schools. I’d say this school’s special education teachers (Mrs. Gaugh, Ms. Ichoku, Mr. Reheard)Mrs. Albright (principal) and Mrs. Lynam (VP) truly love their school and know each kid by name. One of my kids went there for only 1 year which was the virtual year and the teachers and admin still ask about him. Most of the gen ed teachers are good so far if not amazing. Principal and VP are very involved in after school events. Parents are pretty involved and you have to sign up right away for helping with field trips, class parties, etc or you won’t get a spot. Band and orchestra are competitive here and miss the old band teacher who left a couple years ago. Now band teacher tends to focus more on those who have a natural talent for their instrument. Not only is he bullied by his peers, after I reported the bullying the Principal dismissed it as bullying. Even though it's been ongoing for 3 whole years. They'll look into it, observe the behavior, investigate it, and do their best within their legal ability and then dismiss it. My son is still facing the bullies to this day. The wellness room AKA NURSE is a joke. The nurse isn't allowed to give the kids medicine for a headache or migraine. My son had a migraine, went to the wellness room (NURSE) and was sent back to class. They told him it's not that serious. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? MY SON WAS IN TEARS AND IN PAIN. I WAS NOT CALLED ONCE!!
