Horrible experience with child not learning to read at a third grade level

We are so happy and grateful to be members of the Barclay family. The kids are kind, the teachers are experienced and wise, and it is a caring community in a city we are proud to live in.

This is the best city school my children have went to. I plan to keep them here until we move back to the county. I feel very comfortable when I leave my children here.

I love my daughter's teachers past and present. Miss former administrator team though. We knew exactly where and I loved their no nonsense attitude towards the students.

This school is terrible it starts with the front office the have a terrible attitude so why would the kids have a good attitude you walk in they don’t greet you at all you sit there and they won’t say anything they must of found the rudest people to work there I hate this school nobody is nice there

I am an alum and always thought my kids would go to Calvert. It was a great education for me many years ago but as we went through the admissions process for my son, I was very disappointed. Calvert's curriculum is very outdated compared to other schools and their approach to students is incredibly rigid with very linear instruction and a focus on kids being compliant rather than being creative.I heard similar complaints from other parents who took their kids out of Calvert but have started seeing it from other alumni, as well. Calvert touts they are less expensive than other private schools but this might be a case of, "you get what you pay for."Hopefully they right the ship but I would look elsewhere until then.
