Read what parents are saying about Gilman SchoolAvoid this school if your son likes arts and is a smart, sensitive, and good boy... unless you want to witness the slow and painful extinguishing of his creativity and individuality. Forget about encouraging your son's love for the arts or nurturing his unique talents. The school seems to have a singular focus on producing a specific type of student, leaving no room for those who don't fit the mold. If your son dares to be different or possesses interests beyond the narrow scope the school deems acceptable, he'll likely feel like an outcast. Also, their so-called commitment to diversity is nothing but a marketing ploy. My bilingual son became a case study in neglect, as the teachers seemed utterly clueless about how to support a child with a unique profile. The school's lack of understanding and support for his needs led to feelings of isolation and inadequacy. I shudder to think about the long-term impact on his self-esteem and mental well-being. Thankfully he's striving in his new school.Lastly, communication with the administration is a lesson in frustration. Trying to get a straight answer about anything feels like pulling teeth. It's as if they're deliberately trying to keep parents in the dark about the school's shortcomings. If you value your son's individuality, creativity, and overall well-being, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.
Posted by a parent on 12/8/2023I like the school and I have lots of friends.
Posted by a student on 1/24/2022Really only a school for athletes. Most teachers are coaches, and attend mostly to students whom they coach. Very few female teachers here, and that creates problems.
Posted by a parent on 3/9/2019Terrible experience with a lot of bullying going on. Terrible administration that listens but does nothing. Stephanie Dennis the learning specialist is a not there to help the boys.
Posted by a parent on 3/5/2018If your son has any sort of learning difference i.e. disability stay far away from this school. There is no support. Stephanie Dennis, the women who was brought in to run this department, is not there to help your child. She has stated that it is her job to keep kids from getting services recommended by the psychologist. She is combative, not responsive to parents and has failed to get extra time for eligible kids for the SAT They offer very few accommodations. Even if your child is brilliant, you would do better at a different school.

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur son is in his second year at A Child's Place and loves it here! He barely stops to say goodbye when we drop him off in the morning, and he comes home full of stories of all the things they’ve learned all day. The teachers are great and the space itself is wonderful, both the indoor classrooms and the campus itself where the kids take walks and explore. Such a lovely place for littles to learn and grow.Parent Review7mo ago - St Davids Day School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe are a minority family who attends St. David's. My son is in the 3s. Prior to coming to this school my son was in daycare and very shy. Now he is a social little boy who runs into school everyday. He wants to play pretend school at home and tells me that we eat our healthy foods first!!! I'm so impressed with his vocabulary, reading and spelling. He even can do basic math. He has been there for about two months and his growth is amazing. I'm already dreading the idea of 1st grade bc he will not be at St. David's. Communication, drop off, learning, and playtime is wonderful. It's literally perfection and my not so shy boy is thriving.Parent Review5mo ago - Grace United Methodist Preschool
