Read what parents are saying about Germantown Elementary SchoolVery positive. The school rating does not reflect the positive side of the schools character and teaching staff. My kids enjoy each day of learning.
Posted by a parent on 1/8/2020Overall I have been very impressed with this school. The teachers seemed engaged and excited to be teaching at this school. I also appreciate the diversity in this school.

Posted by a parent on 10/28/2018My son is in 1st grade and has grown tremendously (academically, emotionally, socially) over the past two years at GES. I was able to spend quite a bit of time in his kindergarten class and was impressed by the implementation of PYP principles and themes in the class and quality of teaching. This continues in 1st grade where students have more leadership opportunities in the school, set academic goals and develop a greater understanding of world cultures. There are numerous resources for students of all academic levels. After school programs are amazing! The school is much smaller than stated here (closer to 600) due to redistricting!
Posted by a parent on 2/25/2018Both of my children have attended Germantown. the staff is great, the principal is warm and caring. For a large school they work hard to give every student an opportunity to shine. Ms. Barrett has been wonderful and has helped my daughter read on grade level and assists in figuring out 10 year old social issues.

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am a happy mom of two children at Mills Parole and I think it's a great place. The teachers are very caring and want the students to do their best. The new principal and vice principal are great. They seem very caring and interested in the kids. Mr. Walker comes out every morning to help the traffic. Mrs. Meyers is always available and helps the kids. The Mills Parole staff is a great team!Parent Review10y ago - Weems Creek Nursery School & Kindergarten

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is our second year at AACS. We have one child at the Lower School and one at the Middle School. We appreciate the rigorous but balanced workload and the Christian values/Biblical Worldview that are infused throughout the curriculum and among the teachers and staff. Our children have attended two other private Christian schools, both of which are in Prince Georges County, and AACS by far, has positively exceeded our past experiences. We truly appreciate the teachers personal relationships with Christ and can see the light of Christ in everything they do! This begins with the Principals: Mrs. Pavlischek (lower school) and Mr. Slenk (middle school). AACS truly represents what our family feels a Christian school should represent.....CHRIST!Parent Review8y ago - St Mary Elementary School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe LOVE our school. I have had 3 sons go to this wonderful elementary school. I have one son still there. I have been a parent at this school for 13 years. The teacher's are excellent and truly love their students. The support administration is very organized and helpful. One of my son's had difficulty learning to read and he was incredibly supported by his teacher's and the reading specialist, receiving tons of extra support. This school is warm and comforting and feels like a family.Parent Review2y ago - St Martins Lutheran Church School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe middle school math program is seriously lacking. They need to hire a qualified teacher for math. They also need newer materials. The book that is being used is at least 15 years old. Teacher also not willing to help any children and stay after for help. When most of the students are doing poorly that means that there is an issue with the teaching. Wake up and do something about it. Put the fundraising money where it is needed..don't cut transportation for field trips. Do more for the kids..especially the middle school kids. All sorts of programs for the young ones..Learn to Ride A Bike, etc.but nothing for middle school.Parent Review1mo ago - Book Of Life Academy

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI started at the school using the daycamp to transition my son from daycare to regular school. The school has been amazing in helping me provide my son an amazing education. He loves his teachers and I have seen a great improvement in his manners, intelligence and personality. They allow him to be himself which is very important. They are stern which helps provide me that extra boost. He is my first and only child and the teachers have helped me with various methods to improve behavior at home as well. Its a small no frills school but I love it. I have worked with many people who have recommended this school because either their children, grandchildren or other family members have attended and loved it.Parent Review4y ago
