This is not a "heard through a friend" review; this is a firsthand, objective review weighing performance over 5+ years. That said my children haven't gone through 5th and 6th grade yet so I can only speak to K-4th. The learning experience has been very positive with solid teaching. Academically, it's one of the better elementary schools in the city. No complaints there!The school has resources and takes steps to prevent bullying and support mental health. If there's bullying it's dealt with immediately. It's a secure environment. There's a feeling the staff and administration that genuinely cares about their students' safety and well-being. The special education team is EXCELLENT! Can't say enough about how strong they are at Norrback. My younger two have IEPs and have seen significant progress across the board. The family engagement is really good, with multiple school-led and PTO-led events every year. There's always a strong turnout from families. It's a true school community, which is important.
