Posted by a student on 8/27/2023this school is terrible. i have a cousin who goes here and she is crying because she’s so scared to go to school because kids are jumping her. they are allowing there students to hit each other and be violent. allowing boys to hit girls. i would not send your kid here the staff are not good. the councilors are rude. I am worried about my cousin going to this school that she will get injured the school needs to do better. PLEASE DONT SEND YOUR KIDS HERE

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating Averagethis school sucks they did do all they could considering the medical situation at hand it took 6 months to get in contact with the school principal and finally got her in the phone two weeks ago smh i literally was facing death and the did nothing to accommodate my son a lot of he said she said my son also faced some bullying and no talk of retention was discussed they just sent a letter alt with weeks after school ended and that spoke about retention during my hospitalization i was harassed up until i was about to go under for operation i was in communication the whole time with this school and the principal lied through her teeth and stated that my son was missing for two months i have proof of speaking to her staff about my plan due to illness and being unable to take care of my son Note to the principal: you continue with your attitude because of society standards you are going to stop a lot of kids from reaching their full potential!! if everyone was like you and didn’t believe in their students if no teacher ever took a risk we would have no mike whalburg, we wouldn’t have a lot of the superstars and athletes that we have today you have to think outside the box especially for our students because the way that everyone follows is not what always works .Parent Review1y ago - Elias Brookings

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWonderful school with awesome teachers!!! They really went above and beyond for my two kids entering school for the first time after homeschooling. They were welcomed and worked with all their quirks. There is literally zero bullying that we have experienced. The school is wonderful, clean and bright with lots of natural light! The staff is amazing, principal, teachers, counselor, nurse, evaluation team leader and everyone else.Parent Review4y ago - Kensington Avenue

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe Principal never seems to know what is going on. She seems to have no control over the children in her school. I had to speak to her several times about a bullying issue, but she couldn't even remember the countless times I had been in there to speak to her. It is probably because she walks away and sends me to another staff member to solve the issue. She is one of the least effective and passive administrators I have ever encountered in my entire school career. I think the school would be a much more productive environment if the state replaced her as principal. Furthermore, my daughter hates this school. The children are constantly disrupting my daughter when trying to learn. She has been bullied with minimal action taken by the school. She used to love school, but now she doesn't even want to go. She constantly comes home visibly upset. It has come to a point that I may have to drop out of school myself, just to home school my daughter because the principal is really that frustrating to deal with.Parent Review8y ago - Sumner Avenue

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is a lovely school. My son was welcomed with open arms on day one. His needs were addressed immediately. Most importantly the staff conveys a warm, safe and friendly environment for the kids.Parent Review6y ago - Springfield Sda Junior Academy
