Dryden Memorial Elementary School

Wonderful school with awesome teachers!!! They really went above and beyond for my two kids entering school for the first time after homeschooling. They were welcomed and worked with all their quirks. There is literally zero bullying that we have experienced. The school is wonderful, clean and bright with lots of natural light! The staff is amazing, principal, teachers, counselor, nurse, evaluation team leader and everyone else.

A few of the teachers were good and seemed to care about the kids but most seem short tempered and would rather not be there. The PTA was unorganized and were not willing to show any money handling proceedures. I helped out with quite a few school functiouns due to the lack of help elsewhere. glad we moved away.

This is a horrible school. There is no communication between parents and school staff. There is a blonde lady who helps the special needs children on the bus after school, she is very handsy and mouthy with the kids. It is highly unprofessional, along with the poor behavior from the front office staff. I would not recommend this school to any family or friends.

Befor you send your child here, sit in on some of the classess. The teachers are really good, but most of the kids are disruptive all the time and the Principal ignores it or screams at them.

The Principal never seems to know what is going on. She seems to have no control over the children in her school. I had to speak to her several times about a bullying issue, but she couldn't even remember the countless times I had been in there to speak to her. It is probably because she walks away and sends me to another staff member to solve the issue. She is one of the least effective and passive administrators I have ever encountered in my entire school career. I think the school would be a much more productive environment if the state replaced her as principal. Furthermore, my daughter hates this school. The children are constantly disrupting my daughter when trying to learn. She has been bullied with minimal action taken by the school. She used to love school, but now she doesn't even want to go. She constantly comes home visibly upset. It has come to a point that I may have to drop out of school myself, just to home school my daughter because the principal is really that frustrating to deal with.

The primary teachers are great. However, there is an over abundance of heavily accented bilingual teachers aids. While this may not be a major issue for some, it gets to be a major issue when there are the ones in charge of helping students read and spell. Another issue is lack of help when a student has a learning disability. And forget about trying to get a call back from the person in charge of learning disability testing. The nurse is very rude and loves to boundry stomp on a parents wishes and rights. The principle is a very nice woman, but could stand to make some changes in staffing and maybe get some fluent english speaking teachers Aids to help those students who do not speak spanish and still need some extra help. Ms. Howell teaches Kindergarten and is simply amazing-very sweet, very helpful, such a smart lady and has not lost her spark and love of teaching, my son absolutely loved and enjoyed her class... My opinion though, dont move to springfield, dont put your kids in springfield schools. The whole district is terrible overall.

One of the teachers is always rude to my daughter and has even given her what I feel was unfair grades. Teachers like that ruin the learning experience for young children.
