NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageUnfortunately this school is only Waldorf by name and pageantry only. They make no effort to actually uphold any pedagogy of inclusivity, experiential learning, support, and nurturing to individual students, and imaginative creativity which should be central for a school that claims to be Waldorf. Many of their teachers do not have any Waldorf certification or education and they do not follow the child through their years at the school which is a major part of the pedagogy. My child’s teacher was cold, dismissive, and i felt as though she had very little patience for, or training in, any sort of child development. She decided early on which students were not worth her time, and was so rude to me and my child that my child developed a fear of her. The school administration was disorganized, rude, and completely dismissive of any sort of circumstances that were not familiar to their very narrow minded world. They did not take any parental concerns into consideration and were quick to send children home early for having allergies or being homesick on the first week of classes instead of spending time trying to talk to them. They made parents spend exorbitant amounts of money for outdoor gear for their outside classrooms but after the second week, I was made aware that the students were only ever outside for an hour to to hours cumulatively per day. Aftercare was a free for all where kids of all ages just stood around in mud with one teacher. I pulled my child out of the school after three weeks. The time my child was there was one of the most stressful months I’ve had in quite sometime. Most days we were there, we were called for some arbitrary reason to come pick them up early. Every time I would pick up, my child would be fine, no tears, no excessive boogers (seriously, a reason I was forced to pick up early two days in a row), and would say the teacher got mad at all the kids again. During the day, their lead teacher was constantly on Facebook and Instagram, posting articles about parenting, her side business, or photos of the kids. Their assistant, who was actually friendly and caring, was clearly stretched too thin, and was constantly pulled away from children who needed them due to ‘chores’ needed to be completed, meaning that the children were often on their own while the lead teacher was on her phone. Ironically, despite all of this, parents and children were shamed regularly for use of technology at home.LSS, Would never, ever recommendParent Review4y ago12 Reviews - Bridgeview Montessori School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe love Bridgeview Montessori for so many reasons. Bridgeview develops the whole child. They allow the child to explore and create. Guiding the child, but not dictating the outcome. Children are allowed to find the conclusion. This creates self confidence, self awareness, collaboration and negotiating skills plus outstanding academic achievements.Parent Review7y ago4 Reviews - Bournedale Elementary School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageTake the ratings here lightly. This is a PK-2 school so there is zero standard testing for them to be comparing the scores of in the greatschools stats. Bournedale is a great school, with a wonderful special needs program.Parent Review3y ago3 Reviews - The Hundred Acre School Heritage Museums and Gardens

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur oldest has attended the Hundred Acre School’s Pre-K program for the past two years, and we have been continually impressed by how nurturing and dedicated the entire staff is. He has truly flourished in this environment, thanks to the thoughtfully designed learning centers that align with weekly themes, collaborative group activities, and the incredible opportunity to spend more than two hours a day exploring the beautiful grounds of Heritage. We’re thrilled that our youngest will be joining the preschool class next year and can’t wait to see the growth and joy this experience will bring. We feel incredibly fortunate that both of our children have access to such a high-quality early childhood program during these critical formative years.Parent Review10mo ago12 Reviews
