Taconic High School

I am the extremely proud principal of Stearns Elementary and have been since 2017. This school is small but mighty. The staff here are the most dedicated professionals I have ever worked with. They take professional learning extremely seriously and are always looking for ways to best reach their students. They collaborate on a daily basis and support each and every child, not just those in their classrooms. Each child is greeted by name as they enter the building every morning and celebrated each month during our whole school Gatherings. We celebrate differences that make us unique. We have the only co-taught model in Berkshire County where every classroom from Kindergarten through Grade 5 has a special education teacher, a general education teacher and a paraprofessional working alongside one another all day to support the learning needs of every child. We pride ourselves in small group, targeted instruction at each child's ability level. The academic as well as social emotional gains of students is truly spectacular. I have an open door policy for all caregivers and community members to share ideas to better our school community and we love sharing our success stories with those who love us. I am a grandparent who likes to engage with my children schools. I have observed good relations with the students. Help when needed and an open door policy with parents. Thank you teachers for all you do.

Good overall but there are some gaps in students and faculty engagements that makes me a bit concerned.

this school has the best education and best classes

Conte is a fantastic sxchool with great afterschool programs, teachers and challenging programs. As a prent, I love how nature and the environment are incorporated into all curriculum areas. Great school that has really turned itself around!

Speaking as the mom of a Sinai alumni, I can attest to the fabulous education and level of confidence my daughter acquired at Sinai Academy. The 1/2 hour of Hebrew they spoke each morning from K- on allowed her to excel in Latin and French at grade 6 when she moved on to middle school, achieving National Latin Scholar and AP French Scholar during high school. Most importantly though, the level of confidence she received, the awareness of helping others all became woven into her moral fabric. Now nearly finishing college, she attributes her academic and life successes, the structure and the discipline to meet her academic responsibilities, to Sinai Academy. I am not Jewish but I very much like what she was able to take away from this little gem of a school.
