Would not recommend at all. To much worrying about vaping in the bathrooms when I think they have bigger problems in the school.
Posted by a parent on 3/22/2024If you can get a different school for your child please try, Whitcomb was horrible. Teachers are caring for the most part but safety concerns are ridiculous! Fights all the time and nothing is done by administrators. I’d worry what kids are in your child’s class and who they’re meeting at this school. Some classes are so out of control but kids don’t tell their parents and kids are yelling, etc in classes! Bullying is not addressed at all. Such concerns about safety but it’s never mentioned and teachers can’t talk about it. Just think about who you want with your child in a Classroom. Please try to get another school for your child.
Posted by a parent on 8/22/2023I have come home crying because of staff including guidance counselors. This school should be shut DOWN. NOW! useless classes and teachers do not allow bathroom time to be longer than 5 minutes, even if girls are on their period. Teachers and guidance counselors gossip about students mental and physical health, although it has nothing to do with them.

It’s honestly trash a lot of the time and kids get in trouble for simple things, I feel that the administrators are just desperate for teachers at this rate since a lot of them complain about such childish things like sharpening a pencil or asking a simple question about the assignment. I got a Saturday detention for switching seats because I was being harassed. It’s now my second year at this school and every year I have been treated poorly and have been punished for sticking up for myself (I was the only one in trouble not the bullies just me)

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIn my opinion the teachers are doing an excellent job. It is hard and a lot of work but teachers are fair and care for your children. However I do not like the community at all. In all those years I have never felt welcome by other families. There is this "Elite" that sticks together and completely ignores anyone else. IC offers gatherings for fundraiser purposes but when you show up nobody even looks at you. I feel more welcome at my gym then at my children's school! The retirement of the principal was long overdue, same goes for some of the teachers (art and music is a very sad subject at this school!) If you are looking for excellent education for your children (but not in music or art) this is the right school - if you are trying to be a member of the community you might be lucky and meet the right person but I wouldn't count on it! Also keep in mind the class sizes are not always small. Sometimes they cramp up to 24 children in one class but then with two teachers.Parent Review9y ago
