Read what parents are saying about Marblehead Veterans Middle SchoolThe principal and VP have not principles. They only care about themselves, and they do NOTHING to inspire hope and success. They are dormant to the problems that exist at the school, especially given that it is an interim "place" between lower middle school and the HS. The faculty are generally good, but some are pompous; some are no where to be seen; and some are awesome. Quite an unfortunate mix. If any faculty member complains, s/he gets reprimanded for telling the truth. Yes, I agree; this is NOT a school ... it is a prison for the good and a haven for the bad.
Posted by a community member on 12/15/2020Not the right school if your child has any type of special needs. Racially insensitive environment, bullying is rampant, ineffective administration and leadership that rest on test scores to make them a "great school." School leadership is out of touch.
Posted by a parent on 8/1/2017Terrible oppressive place. Feels like prison, and kids come out of there beat fown and hardened. Administration acts like it hates the kids. Bullying is rampant but no one cares. No effort to reach out to troubled students. Kids going into therapy, yhe psych ward, expelled, suspended are excessive. We have had 3 school threats that required police involvement. Principal and vice principal should be fired.
Posted by a parent on 5/25/2017Marblehead Middle School is a great school if your child performs at the average or above average level. Special Education is antiquated and the director is unavailable. They have lost so many hearings at the state level - and what that tells you is that if you can afford an attorney - you are going to need one who specializes in special education.

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe Glover is a great school due to a number of factors: the brand new building is incredible, the outstanding faculty exhibits teamwork, and the administration truly cares about every student. Our eldest son attended 2nd and 3rd grades and our middle son has attended Kindergarten through 2nd grade .... we send our daughter to Kindergarten next fall and are really looking forward to more years at the Glover. Kids get a great education and have fun doing it!Parent Review9y ago - Childrens Workshop Montessori

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe Children's Workshop has opened a whole new Universe of imagination learning for our child! From reading, writing, math, art, music, languages, history, geography, kids are truly encouraged to develop an early love of learning. I can't say enough good things about each one of the amazing teachers! The teachers are kind, supportive, very professional and knowledgeable, and the curriculum exceeds all expectations. I highly recommend this school to anyone!Parent Review4y ago - Tower School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWords cannot express how grateful we are to be a part of the Tower School community. There is no greater joy than watching our son run into school every day, eager to learn and engage with his teachers and friends. The dedication and commitment of teachers, administration and staff to ensure an enriching and supportive environment every day is inspiring.Parent Review2y ago - Devereux School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBoth our kids currently attend Devereux School and I couldn't be happier! We absolutely love it here. My oldest started in 1st grade and my youngest is currently in Kindergarten at Devereux. The school is family to us. The grounds are open, natural and in keeping with the Montessori philosophy. The kids (K+) are outside everyday for at least an hour. They sit down with cloth napkins and placemats at lunch (which they help to fold, set and clean-up). The kids are expected from a very early age to do their part, be a helper, express compassion and model respect. Somehow while teaching young kids to be civil and kind citizens, they also have wonderfully high academic standards. They have a science fair, have memorized and learned about the period table of elements and learn French every day. When my older child started Devereux in 1st grade, I was a bit concerned that she might be behind her peers who had been there learning French in preschool and Kinder. I'm happy to report that by 2nd grade she had earned a medal placing in the top 85% of the Grand Concours (a national French test). The teaching staff cares for the children like nothing I've ever seen before - and we've paid our dues at other schools. In addition to daily French, they have art, chorus, nutrition and yoga classes weekly. The children are given the tools to self-regulate their emotions and the trust that they are capable and kind creatures. When things go wrong, the teachers address it immediately - with the children AND the parents. We have yet to be in a situation where I have been unsatisfied with the response of staff and administration. There is no perfect school, but Devereux is as close to perfect as it gets for us.Other Review7y ago - Salem Early Childhood
