Posted by a parent on 3/18/2023We're the best of the best. BUTLER BULLDOGS WORK HARD AND PLAY HARD. The Butler school is an amazing placed to explore your strengths and mprove your weaknesses. Many extracurricular activities are how you may act on those listed. I am a proud student of the 7th grade and this school has made me a great person. The teachers were accused of "favoriting students" in an earlier review that I read. Yes, this does occur, but only because the teachers notice the students they've helped and the students that actually let the teahers help them. It's all about effort and if you work for it, you'll earn it. Don't be shy or rude or any other negative trait, and the teachers will notice that. Be confident and try your best to do well, scholastically and socially. The Butler is a great place to become that way.

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageLCCPS is an amazing school! they have high academic standards and they value all cultures and people. Each group is no more than 25 students which allows a more personalized attention to each child. My kids love going to school every day. It is a great community that we will miss when our kids finish middle school.Parent Review1y ago - Dr. Gertrude Bailey Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageNot a parent, but I’m a former student who graduated from this school circa 2012 who is now a university student. Based on my experiences, I’m rating this school a one-star because some of the teachers are too serious regarding the tone they speak in and communicate with students. They’re teaching children, what are they expecting them to be? Have fully developed brains and act mature? I understand that children need to behave, but yelling at them and embarrassing them in front of the class isn’t going to help and will probably make them a bullying target. From what I recall, the teaching curriculum was okay-ish. Although, the teachers weren’t very helpful when it came to class assignments. The teachers also weren’t very friendly like I mentioned before, making it intimidating to ask them for help.Other Review1y ago - Pyne Arts Magnet School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am a student at this school. I enjoy attending the Pyne Arts Magnet School because they have very fun activities you can do such as, Drama, Music, Dance, Sports, Shoe designing, 3D printing, and more. I wouldn't recommend starting any drama in this school because it goes on for weeks and eventually people start to hear about it and pick sides. Sometimes the drama in this school is over the stupidest things such as boys. There are fights in this school but the teachers do their best to stop that from happening. Also when you are in this school people make fun of you but if you tell a teacher they talk to that student about it so I think the teachers are pretty helpful. When you're stuck on a question and need help the teachers help you and motivate you to do your best. Most of the time when you participate they reward you with candy and things like that. I recommend this school because they do whatever it takes to help you.Student Review8mo ago - Shaughnessy Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI cannot be happier with my family's experience at the Washington School!!! The school felt like home as soon as I walked in. My children loved their teachers from pre-K to 4th grade. It is a very strong school academically and the dedication of each and every teacher is a reason for celebration in my opinion. During our first few years in the school, we were constantly hearing rumors about the school closing and then Mrs. Cunningham appeared and it was a game changing moment for the Washington School. She fought for this school tooth and nail! Soon we got a new roof, new boiler, and new windows... She still didn't get tired and we got new fencing around the school and a whole new renovated bathroom!!! I have spent a lot of time inside the school helping whenever possible or necessary and these students are kept busy the entire day. The school might be small but the effective use of every inch of the school is amazing and the living proof of that is the amazing Mr. Z. He is one of the best PE teachers I have ever seen and my kids absolutely adore him. To top it off, the school has one of the BEST MCAS score in the district!!!!! And that is a FACT for so many years that always makes me wonder "how do these teachers do it?" The Washington School is Lowell's rare gem, hidden, formed by caring, professional, and experienced people working hard for every single kid I have known there. We are proud to be part of it!Parent Review4y ago - Immaculate Conception School
