6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageTo say I am disgusted is an understatement. While my child's teacher was honest and approachable, the administration neglected to follow an IEP for my child that specifically states that they're underresponsive to pain and must have consultation done by an EMT or Doctor if injured. During recess, my child split their face down to the optical bone and was not transported to the hospital via ambulance. They were left to be transported to the hospital, while bleeding, in my backseat. My child has special needs and was terrified when I arrived at the school, was still covered in blood and the school could not even properly dress his wounds. They lied three times about how it happened, refused to cover the metal edge that he split his face on and I was not even contacted by any member of administration. They filed an incident report without my approval of the document and then I had to request a copy, which I was supposed to receive 24 hours after the incident. After this whole ordeal, I had to fight with my child every morning just to get on the bus. He screamed, cried and was terrified that he would get further injured. He still has a large scar and he still references the incident. Forever angry.Parent Review4y ago

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter loves this school, and so do we! I had been considering homeschooling because my daughter is very sensitive and shy, but after learning about SMS and visiting, both my 5 year-old daughter and I decided it was near-perfect. The principal even met my child at the front door for the first few weeks to walk her to class while she got over her initial anxiety about being away from her mama. I have found everyone to be very welcoming, kind, and surprisingly open-minded and curious about our multiculturalism. Catholicism is certainly a part of the atmosphere and curriculum, but in no way do I feel that other faiths are not respected or tolerated. There are also modest scholarships available for families who demonstrate financial need, so don't discount the school because it is private.Parent Review9y ago
