Pine Glen Elementary School

I have 2 kids in the school, and have found our experience outstanding. The teachers are engaging and work hard to inspire the students. Both of my kids have decided they want to go to college and have technical careers, which I think is great. The school offers many programs, which my kids have tried several. This includes sports clubs, robotics clubs, business clubs and many more. Ove 100 mentioned at our orientation. The school has been active in preparing kids for SAT exams, and providing opportunities for learning sessions for various colleges.I find the social environment great. The school embraces all different cultures and makes an effort to make everyone feel welcome. My kid comes home and share new things about many different friends that are from different countries and/or have different religions. It's wonderful to see they're all kids with similar interests. Glad we moved to Burlington.

I'm counting down the days until this year is over. On the 3rd day of school the kids were still meeting in the gym, parents walked them in. My son was crying, the teacher looking at my and firmly said "leave". She then turned around and told my son, and I quote, to "sit down and be quiet". After speaking to the superintendent and head of school all they did was make up excuses for her behavior, never once did my son or I get an apology from the teacher. Outside time is 20 minutes if at all. And in the winter they can't bring boots or snow pants and play in the snow. "If" they go outside it's just in the parking lot and it's viewed as "a special treat". The reason is because they have to much curriculum to get through and in the winter I'm assuming they don't want to deal with the hassel. Oh and if your child can't sit still for 5 hours straight you'll be hearing about it. They expect the child to conform to them, they don't care about conforming for the child, they are expected to be robots. They have 4 levels for behavior. Red, yellow, green and blue. Blue is for fabulous. If your child doesn't get to blue expect them to come home in tears because 'they aren't fabulous' depsite making the best efforts that they can. We wonder why kids these days are self conscious. I emailed the teacher to ask why was needed in order to get to blue so I could help coach my son, the response was " they need to go over and above to meet my expectations". The recommended foods are basically whatever is in your junk food isle and fruits and veggies are listed last uner "other". So I'd plan on packing lunch daily if you'd like to keep your child healthy. Please spare your child from this place if you can afford it.

Hey, this school is great, the teachers are excepting, and evryone tries their hardest to make kids comfortable, people complaining just are mad that they get bad grades

My Child started kindergarten at Mount Hope and I can't be happier. I heard about good stories about mount hope prior to sending him there, but they exceeded my expectations in all ways. Teachers are awesome and loving and caring. All admin staff are well informed, educated and dedicated! Lunch is delicious and nutrious with a reasonable cost. He happily reported that it is better than top notch restaurants he's eaten before. I can see my son growing intellectually, socially and spiritually every day!
