Bishop Elementary School

I’m an alumni and I graduated in 2018 and was in Special Education for my whole life and 4 straight years in high school because of my Autism which disadvantaged me to take General Education courses. This lead me to be depressed everyday walking through these doors leaving me not being as educated enough as I thought because I was always afraid to be judged and I wasn’t feeling it to my teachers and my fellow Classmates, but I did join the Marching Band, and Track and Field which that was really fun in spiritual. Teachers weren’t really trying hard enough to challenge students to learn the criteria which makes students to struggle academically and un-prepared for college (for those who want to continually pursue their education) and not getting enough homework which makes them having the lack of Knowledge. The building itself I would say it needs a majority of improvement. Science Labs are already renovated Well-Done, but the rest of the certain buildings need to renovate the hallways in the B Building on the 2nd floor and C building on all 3 floors. However, they did a great job painting all over the building, but I think in consideration they should start over with replacing certain hallways to make the school look better and neater. I’m glad I’m out of Prison school. At my time here there were always fights in the hallway which it can grow its reputation of record through the students which it give a untouched relationships with the students. Half of the teacher populations can be unpredictable and rude. Some of them are not as helpful. We need to do a stupendous job finding teachers that actually make a great impact with their students to learn professionally and connect with peers.

The school is good and they do a good job on including everyone no matter what their ethnicity or disability

St. Raphaels has overall been a great experience for our child who is in Junior High. There are a lot of great after school programs (sports and academics) that students can take advantage of. They also have four dances (more like parties) a year and other fun social events, and there are educational Washington DC and NYC trips available for students to take part in. In the Junior High academic program, there is one teacher for grades 6,7,8 per subject. This can be a great thing if the teacher is an excellent teacher, which matches my perception for the bulk of the Junior High teachers. The kids seem to have a hard time learning from the math teacher but the school seems to be working on ways to make this better. If you are considering sending your child to this school, find a parent to talk to about their child’s experience with the math teacher. A good number of parents end up getting outside tutoring for math, which can add up quickly in terms of a family’s education budget. Overall, the teachers and staff are caring and devoted to the mission of the school.

Great school with caring and loving teachers. Amazing kind students who lift each other up. The character and spiritual development I have witnessed are above and beyond. Additionally, I have seen improvement every year and I have been part of the parent community since 2016.
