Amesbury Middle School

My child has been at AES from 1st to 4th grade and is moving on to the middle school next year. He is very bright but has special needs and has really struggled at this school. We have had to work hard to get some of his teachers to follow his IEP and we have not always been happy about the way discipline has been handled. The curriculum has not been creative or engaging and even though my son spends 6 hours a day there, we have to spend hours more at home, after homework, teaching him basic math skills that he is not getting at school.

I couldn't be more disappointed. Staff is not trained, not knowledgeable about children with special needs. The Principal is the most dishonest human being on earth. I have no idea how she sleeps at night. Education is not her priority. She bullies her staff and mistreats students.

The school is amazing! They teach character education and focus on Clipper Values. The PTO supports many extra-curricular activities including an after school enrichment session. Everyone is very warm and welcoming!

This school is not fit for anyone who wants their child to feel good about themselves and get a good education. My daughter went here and her self confidence went way down after numerous teachers bullied her. They treated her like a pariah, and her grades fell because of it.
