Read what parents are saying about Madisonville Junior High SchoolUnfortunately, the general education teachers do not abide by IEPs for special education students. Additionally, teachers do not pay attention to what their students are doing in class and they abuse technology, and students are exposed to negative, unethical, and immoral content. If you are a person of faith, your child will be exposed to explicit material in the curriculum and illicit behavior of students. When visiting with administration depending on who you get they will address it with the teachers but the problem will keep cycling and it never irons out. If you have the opportunity to go to a private school or home school I would recommend it.
Posted by a parent on 8/24/2022My daughter loves this school. They have so many programs to offer students. We love the music department.
Posted by a parent on 7/5/2016My child went to this school for almost a year, and was bullied relentlessly. She had went from a happy, great student to a terrified depressed child whose grades continuously went down. Their idea to fix it for her were to change her classes to where she was just bullied by different people. She changed classes more than once, but it never ended. There's a reason they have anti-bullying signs every 5 feet in the hallways, but the teachers don't take it serious enough. If your child is unique, sweet, or a city kid, do not send them to the Madisonville school district. The education and activities are a positive quality in this school, but when your child is being beat down physically/emotionally, this doesn't benefit your child.
Posted by a parent on 3/3/2015My daughter attended Madisonville Jr High School for 5 yrs. (grades 4-8) I will first say that this school is the best kept secret in St Tammany parish. She was in gifted classes and the teachers in the gifted program are all OUTSTANDING. (Especially Mrs. Laplace and Ms. Smith) The principal, Mr. Kern is so involved and such a great leader. If your child is interested in music, he/she will not get a better director than Mr. Messina. He is so talented and such an asset to the school. This is a wonderful school. My daughter could not have gotten a better education anywhere else.

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe moved here for schools and originally started at a private school before hearing amazing things about Madisonville Elementary. When I tell you Principal Candace Hickman runs a tight (and loving) ship, I mean it!! The facilities are great and my daughter is so much happier at this school. Can’t wait for my son to attend next year! We have nothing but good things to say about MES!!Parent Review1mo ago - Cedarwood School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI’ve gone to ceadrwood from Pre-k 4 all the way to seventh grade, and I’m going to say, I’m impressed. Unlike Tchefuncte middle school, the teachers actually interact with you and care for your mental health. Cedarwood also makes it to where they get the parents involved and make sure everyone in the school connects, like the fall picnic, Christmas socoil, etc. Their school is also high in maintenance, with nice carpet (which is NOT in public schools) a large clean gym, a nice playground (could use a bit more for middle schoolers) and a wide field! I LOVE this school. Im currently in 7th grade, and I joined Cedarwood in PREK-4! Cedarwood is amazing! Five stars! If your looking for a nice school, for all of your kids (PRESCHOOL-7th grade) then definitely choose this school! It’s highly professional, and on pizza days you get 3 fat pieces of pizza! :D your kid will have a blast with the amazing memories they can have in the future!Student Review7mo ago - Christ Episcopal School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is filled with bullies including some teachers. If you donate money, you child likely will have good grades and fair treatment by the teacher, otherwise your child will be ignored even though your child is brilliant.Parent Review7y ago
