Read what parents are saying about Duplessis Primary SchoolI wish I would have pulled my daughter out last year. The teachers DO NOT give homework, so good luck figuring out what they are doing or helping them LEARN HOW TO STUDY! IDK if it is common core, but the kids aren't learning NEAR what other kids at other schools have told me. History? NOTHING. Science? NOTHING, just basic. My daughter is so behind from the school we moved from. Teachers VERY RARELY (not all, but MOST). This school never as fun days or dress down days. End of the year is pathetic compared to other schools with slides and fun stuff for the kids. Mrs. Board allows no fun for these kids. Even 9/11 WAS NOT talked about nor honored. I would not recommend.

Posted by a parent on 8/8/2017This year has been great!! My daughter struggled at first but with the extra help from the teachers and staff at Duplessis she's getting on track.
Posted by a parent on 10/28/2013The teachers work really well with the students. I believe they have that "leave no student behind" mind frame. Also, the students seem to be really disciplined.

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAt first I had a rough go with G.W. Carver, being my child needed additional classes and they did not offer the same curriculum. We moved from a "B" rated school and Carver was a "D" rated school which meant my child had to work harder to strive. I did everything in my power to make sure he did not sink. I made sure I stayed on top of everything, emails, text, phone calls, principals, facilitators and I had to purchase a tutor out of pocket. There need to be more extra activities for students like my chid. After school tutoring, educational workshops, etc. But above all we are currently doing good, my child has improved drastically and with God's continuded help we will pass and exceed to the next grade level.Parent Review11y ago - Dutchtown Primary School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSpanish Lake Primary is not a good school anymore They allow bullies, girls and boys, to roam the halls without any consequences. Physical harm and verbal insults are not dealt with at all. Teachers and administrations do try to fix it or handle the bullies. They try to ignore it and say there is nothing they can do. You are a school. You can do something. You don’t want to do anything. I now understand why young teen suicide is increasing in schools. The teacher smile in your face or avoid the conversation and want you to get over it. Dont send you kids here. Pick a house that is not zoned for Spanish Lake Primary.Spanish Lake Primary has an A rating but they are not a good school for learning. They do not teach. They test. They lie about homework. They lie about helping students learn. They gossip. They are the CYB school. They don’t investigate or try to improve anything. Kids will make it to college and flunk out because they do not teach. Spanish Lake has gone down hill since the new principal took over. It has nothing to do with COVID. COVID was the excuse to do less and not more. COVID is how they excuse what they do not do. Spanish Lake Primary should be monitored and investigated. An A rating means nothing. Speak to the parents of every grade, speak to Spanish and English parents about Spanish Lake Primary, the skeletons will start to show. I am a former teacher and a product of public education. It is sad to see how much Spanish Lake has fallen and the lies they tell to keep the good school story going.Other Review2mo ago
