Read what parents are saying about Cherokee Elementary SchoolMy son attened Cherokee during 2008 - 2010. He had a phenomenal 2nd and 3rd grade teacher. However, his 4th grade teacher was very, very difficult to work with. The principal was no help at all. After calling to the State Board of Education my son got the help he needed - which wasn't much. If you are considering this school stay involved, don't assume your child's needs will be automatically addressed and don't shy away from advocating for your child. I rate this school average because he did have 2 great teachers. His 4th grade teacher did do her job after the State Board was notified.. it shouldn't take that!

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAcademics are way behind the public schools by as much as 3 grade levels. The school begins declining in most all areas by junior high and high school here is not a good choice!Parent Review4y ago - St. Frances Cabrini School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child has attended this school since grade 2 . This is his 5th year. I am struggling to get though it with him. I keep telling him to stick it out. I PRAY that I am not hurting him by insisting that he does stay. In the beginning it was great. The low student teacher ratio was a blessing as my child feels more comfortable like that. After this school decided to join the lottery program it has been all downhill from there. All of the original classmates are gone, more disciplinary problems have arose, the bullying has become part of his everyday life at school. I can honestly say I am counting down the day's until May 22nd......We are looking forward to moving on and wish this school the best.Parent Review9y ago - Our Lady Of Prompt Succor School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have two daughters who have attended this school since second and kindergarten, respectively. They love this school! Every time we have had any difficulty, the teachers and administration has listened to our concerns and tried to make accommodations. Even though my child has an attention problem, she's learning and developing well with the compassionate guidance of the teachers and other caring staff. My girls love receiving a well-rounded education, with art, music, and religion. As Catholics, we are glad to see them learning about their faith, and ways that they can integrate their faith into their daily lives. Beyond the excellent academics and extracurricular activities, the parents, children, and teachers form a wonderful community. I would recommend this school to anyone who is looking to invest in their child's future.Sincerely,Happy OLPS momParent Review8y ago - Phoenix Magnet Elementary School

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AveragePhoenix was our only option at the time for a good education. We were thrilled when both of my children were accepted, We had a great experience the first year with the teachers however there is a huge lack of funding. There was no school nurse and the counselor at the time was more interested in climbing up than her current job title. I felt no support when my child was having panic attacks (due to the high pressure to be perfect). Absences were mocked the second year even when my child had to have an operation. The second year was beyond rough to say the least, The teachers belittled mine and others (I have the notes and text messages to prove it). Not to mention unless you were a favorite of the front desk they treated you less than kindly. I am absolutely not saying this school is not for your child ... they may thrive in this environment. Mine I felt as if their "petals wilted everyday". I work with children everyday and inspire them to achieve on their level, etc. All the best in your decision!Parent Review8y ago
