They were both in second grade, but different classrooms, and they blossomed academically, socially, and mentally. They both recieved awards that boosted their self esteem. I feel like Okalona is a smaller school setting which in return allows the teachers to build a closer relationship with the students, also allowing more one on one time for teachers to work closely with students in a whatever various way that connects with the students. I am so happy that my children was able to attend Okalona Elemtary and I plan on them continueing their education there until they graduate to middle school. I would most definitely recommend Okalona Elemtentary. Mr. Hondadel is a wonderful, hands on, involved, caring teacher. He teaches in ways that makds it fun to learn which leaves an imprint on children. For example, they incubated and hatched duck eggs, they got to experience it all first hand in the classroom! Super cool. He will leave a lasting impression on my daughter throughout her school years and maybe even adult hood.Parent Review9mo ago - Coral Ridge Elementary School

He had a difficult experience at another school within JCPS, which led us to homeschool him for a time. We sent him back to public school in January, and it has been a much better experience for him and for me. Even before in person school resumed, I felt welcomed by his teacher. One day during NTI, the principal even drove out to our house to introduce himself and deliver a small surprise to my son. Since in person school has started back, I have been pleasantly surprised by the amount of outdoor time Coral Ridge has built into the day. Most days my son's class has gone outside twice! My son is enjoying school again, and I cannot begin to tell you how happy (and relieved) that makes me as his mom. Thank you, Coral Ridge for welcoming us!Parent Review2y ago - Blue Lick Elementary School

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageDaughter is in 3rd grade and has had a issue with bullying sense 1st grade. They pretend to address the issues and fix them. Nothing gets done and when they are proven to be in the wrong they try to turn it around on your child even with facts/proof. I recently got told not the question how they run things so I Contacted the board of education and also have spoken with a couple people from news channels who have taken my story. Hoping to have some justice.Parent Review6mo ago - Georgia Chaffee Teenage Parent Program
